Microsoft has announced Pizza Hut for Xbox, a new Xbox 360 app that lets you order your dinner without having to leave your games console.

You can book a delivery and choose your order from the full Pizza Hut menu - pizza, pasta, sides and drinks - and create your own pizza toppings.

The whole thing is compatible with Kinect, meaning that you can put together a pizza with a few arm waves and soon have it sent to your door.

Pizza Hut for Xbox marks a new era for Xbox 360 - it's the first time an entertainment app has allowed for the purchase and delivery of physical goods.

The app even connects to your Facebook account, allowing you to post details of your dinner order for your friends and relatives to see.

Pizza Hut for Xbox launches today in the US, and includes a 15 per cent discount for the first two weeks. We're chasing Microsoft now for details of a UK release.

"We're always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they're interested in," Microsoft mouthpiece Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb told Polygon.

"If you look at our audience, they love pizza. I mean, who doesn't? It has international appeal, and Pizza Hut is a recognised brand that matches up well with the Xbox brand."

Samsung estimated to make 95 percent of Android device profits

Yes, we all know that Android has the prevailing device market share right now, but which companies in that group are actually making money? According to Strategy Analytics' estimates for Q1, it's Samsung... and virtually no one else. With $5.1 billion of Samsung's $7.9 billion operating profit last quarter believed to have come from Android, the Korean firm reportedly accounted for 94.7 percent of Android's hardware profit engine. The only other company that made enough money to stand out was LG, whose $119 million in mobile profits got it to a much smaller 2.5 percent. HTC, Sony, ZTE and the rest were lumped into the ignominious "other" category, at 2.7 percent. The figures don't mean that all other Android manufacturers are floundering, but they do suggest that Samsung is in a much better position to survive any market turbulence.

Google uses computer vision and machine learning to index your photos

5-23-2013googleplusimagesearch.jpg

Tags are so 2008. Google doesn't want you to waste time tagging your photos, except for the people in them. The web giant wants to be able to recognize more abstract concepts like "sunset" or "beach" automatically and attach that metadata without further input. In yet another post-I/O update, Google+ photos now uses computer vision and machine learning to identify objects and settings in your uploaded snapshots. You can simply search for "my photos of trees" or "Tim's photos of bikes" and get surprisingly accurate results, with nary a manually added tag in sight. You can perform the searches in Google+, obviously, but you can also execute your query from the standard Google search page. It's pretty neat, but sadly Mountain View seems to have forgotten what cats look like.

BSkyB wins trademark case against Microsoft over SkyDrive name

While many can tell the difference between Sky TV services and Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage, that's not necessarily true for everyone. A British court certainly thinks there's room for confusion: it has ruled that SkyDrive infringes BSkyB's trademarks on the Sky name in both the UK and the European Union. The presiding judge didn't believe that Microsoft's use of the "sky" prefix was absolutely necessary, and she showed evidence that at least some of the general public didn't understand which company made what. Microsoft says it plans to appeal the verdict, although there's no guarantee that it will have to relabel SkyDrive if the appeal falls through. Some past trademark lawsuits have led to fines instead of name changes, and we suspect Microsoft would rather pay out than lose brand recognition across a whole continent.

How do they know there was a 40% dip though? I.e where does the data from the graph come from?

I can understand each isp being able to provide results or companies like level3 etc but for the entire internet? I'm baffed.
