Agree not many. I'm more comparing it to games on the laptop which need a connection when you're away from home, but I suppose the xbox/ps is normally at home.

Plus I'm not confident in Sky, will have to change isp if this comes in to play.

its prob one of them ones where they have an idea, then it magically "leaks" on a certain site from a "source" then they watch and see what people think of it, if everyone hates it (blog writers, news sites, commenters etc) then its a stupid rumour, if not the source was correct

thats what Id do anyway

Dual Shock 4:

  • Touch Pad to be useable for scrolling etc. Looking for other ways to incorporate it's function.
  • More Range on the Analog Sticks. No Dead Zone in the middle. Smaller motions detected better.
  • Can charge the controller whilst the PS4 is on standby mode.
  • The Light bar will change colour to match characters in game. Can also change patterns during gameplay to alert gamers if they are low on Health etc.

Police have raided the home of next-gen Xbox leaker SuperDaE, if reports are to be believed.

According to The Verge, Australian police were joined by an FBI officer to search his home earlier this week.

SuperDaE, real name Dan Henry, shared a copy of his warrant with The Tech Game which revealed that Microsoft, PayPal and eBay were all part of the investigation. This is probably due to the fact that he tried to sell an alleged Xbox 720 development kiton the auction site last August.

The Verge has managed to confirm that the warrant is genuine, as is Microsoft's supposed involvement, which is pretty telling. If the company has decided to pursue Henry then it's a fairly safe bet that the material he's leaked in the past as well as the Durango dev kit he tried to sell are genuine.

DaE first rose to prominence last year when he posted what he claimed to be images of the Xbox 720 Durango dev kit online. Since then he's also shared rumours about the PlayStation 4's specs as well as suggested that the Xbox 720 will need Kinect to function.

The PlayStation 4 can output in 4K, but not games

Yes, the PlayStation 4 is capable of pushing out a 4K video signal. Sony president of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida confirmed as much to Joystiq in an interview this morning, where he said that the PlayStation 4 will play video that was recorded in the super high-def resolution, but the games currently being made for it aren't in 4K.

Sony made a big 4K push at CES 2013 -- it was all Sony president Kaz Hirai would talk about in our interview, and Sony's booth reflected the company's 4K initiative. It seems that the company's not getting too far ahead of itself, however, recognizing that few consumers buying a PS4 this holiday will own the still-nascent TV tech.

Sony is making a significant leap forward with the underlying technology in the PlayStation 4, but according to Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, it isn't limiting the company's ability to be nimble in terms of the console's cost.

When asked if the company was prepared to compete with other consoles and hit a more favorable price, Yoshida said that Sony's decisions to use custom AMD hardware instead of its own proprietary Cell architecture has allowed it to save on R&D and production costs

"The architecture choice we have made this time around has allowed us not to invest to create dedicated factories and conducting factories and things like that — so that helps in order for us to provide an affordable price to consumers."

While Sony has yet to offer a sense of what the system will cost, it seems as though the company understands that with the advent of gaming-capable sub-$200 smartphones and tablets, consumers are more cost-conscious than ever.
