Apparently

That's pretty fucking influential. There was a time watching United meant. Keane receives the ball, passes it to Beckham, cross, Header from Yorke, Cole or Sheringham and a goal.

Watching Pirlo is amazing and he is a wonderful player and much better to watch but I'd pick David Beckham in his peak times over Pirlo

Pirlo is the conductor of the team, When he is in full swing then he alone controls and dictates the game

Not really comparable as Beckham is just a very technical winger

Beckham is a centre-midfielder still.

In his prime?

Pirlo all day long mate.

He was a centre-midfielder that happened to be on the right flank same way Ronaldo is a centre-forward playing on the left flank.

Beckham never showed anything to say he should be operating in CM in his prime.

Hmmmmmm

Both had their shot at the big stage..........

One of them chose to do this

Whereas the other decided to do this

One went on to win the world cup, the other became a holywood socialite

This shouldn't even be an argument tbh

Beckham never showed anything to say he should be operating in CM in his prime.

During his first few years at United he did but with the competition for places in the middle + his crossing ability Fergie put him on the wing and the rest is history

That's true," Ferguson replied. "I was surprised that they played David in central midfield; I thought that they'd have played him wide right."

The second presenter, Charlie Stillitano, remarked that playing Beckham in the centre meant "you lose what he does best more than anything". Ferguson agreed again: "Yeah, his crossing."

nah they are typical wingers switching wings to drift inside goals, he wouldnt of had that freedom to get in them positions as a CM because he would be expect to be the deep lying play maker spraying balls about.
