'Also heard in the DPRK are strong accusations against the Japs who have zealously joined in the U.S. racket for sanctions.

'The behaviors of Japs, sworn enemy of the Korean nation, are enraging us. The wicked Japs should not be pardoned...

'A telling blow should be dealt to them who have not yet come to senses after the launch of our ICBM over the Japanese archipelago.

'The four islands of the archipelago should be sunken into the sea by the nuclear bomb of Juche. Japan is no longer needed to exist near us.'

An earthquake detected in North Korea has led to conflicting reports that the country may have carried out another nuclear bomb test.

China said the 3.4 magnitude quake was a “suspected explosion”, however an official at South Korea’s meteorological agency said its initial analysis of the tremor, which they put at magnitude 3.0, showed it was a natural quake.

“A key method is to look at the seismic waves or seismic acoustic waves and the latter can be detected in the case of a man-made earthquake,” said the unnamed official. “In this case we saw none. So as of now, we are categorising this as a natural earthquake.”

The earthquake was detected in Kilju county in North Hamgyong province, where the Punggyeri nuclear site is located, the official said.

Iran has said it successfully tested a new medium-range missile, in defiance of warnings from the US that such activities were grounds for abandoning the countries’ landmark nuclear deal.

State television carried footage of the launch of the Khoramshahr missile, which was first displayed at a high-profile military parade in Tehran on Friday. It also carried in-flight video from the nose-cone of the missile, which has a range of 1,250 miles (2,000km) and can carry multiple warheads.

“As long as some speak in the language of threats, the strengthening of the country’s defence capabilities will continue and Iran will not seek permission from any country for producing various kinds of missile,” said the country’s defence minister, Amir Hatami.

The test comes at the end of a heated week of diplomacy at the UN general assembly in New York, where Donald Trump again accused Iran of destabilising the Middle East, calling it a “rogue state whose chief exports are violence, bloodshed and chaos”.

The US has flown B-1B Lancer bombers escorted by F-15 fighters off North Korea’s coast venturing the “farthest north of the Demilitarized Zone,” separating the two Koreas, in the 21st century, the Pentagon’s spokesperson said.

The planes took off from Okinawa, Japan and flew over the waters east of the Korean Peninsula.

"This is the farthest north of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) any U.S. fighter or bomber aircraft have flown off North Korea's coast in the 21st century, underscoring the seriousness with which we take (North Korea's) reckless behavior," said Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White.

North Korea aren't going to destroy anything though. for a country that is still at war with it's neighbour, but hasn't fired a bullet at them for like 60 odds years, it show's that they aren't stupid. They could flatten seoul with artillery right now, and be guaranteed mutual destruction in retaliation. That same outcome would occur if they had nuclear weapons, albeit the stakes being much worse for them. China won't come running to their rescue if they do a madness, and neither will Russia.

The difference is trump is playing the game, he's an idiot, who feels the need to EVERYTHING respond with quips, and sound bites. It' like Ty on arsenal fan tv getting into it with school kids.

So is it the consensus on here that Trump should say nothing and allow North Korea to build themselves some Nuclear Bombs? NK have been on this quest for a long time, why did no other President do anything about it.

I agree I think Trump is a bit childish on the Tit for Tat talk. It is my preference however to hear straight talkers who say what they see and tell it as it is compared to Presidents who refuse to speak the truth though. Like ones who outright refused to talk about Islamic Terrorism.

I think he should carry on the route he's continuing which is to work with the UN, putting pressure on China etc. Clinton established the joint network framework agreement in 1994, in 2007 bush made an agreement with them to shut down their main nuclear reactor in exchange for 400m worth of food, fuel and aid, and Obama adopted the sanction method.

so wouldn't say no other president didn't do anything.

But here are we now in 2017 with North Korea closer than ever to having Nuclear Weapons and still harping on about using them against USA. Doesn't seem like anything anyone is doing is having much of an effect on their regime. Not much of a chance of an uprising there either the way that guy wipes out his own family at the thought of it.
