The 2013 Generation - Who will emerge next season.

Juan Fernando Quintero

What do I see when he plays?

Nicknamed "El Snake" for his electrifying reactions, he teases defenders into challenges before already being on the move as the challenge is in full flight. This speed of thought and the ability to project pictures on the pitch before they actually happen is a unique ability that has seen Quintero rise the ranks at Envigado before securing a move to Italian strugglers Genoa.

He may be slight of frame but he's frequently seen bouncing off defenders in nimble turns with the ball at his feet or evading rash challenges cutting in from wide areas where he's untraceable at times. The main asset in his armory is his technical prowess illustrated by his devestating ability from set pieces scoring from 30 yards at all angles.

Where can this player go?

Another product from the ever improving Colombian generation that seeks world domination within the next 10 years and Quintero may be the inaugrul figure in achieving the target of a World Cup Final within that time frame. The move to Genoa could be a short one until he adjusts to life in Italy before eventually securing a move to the larger clubs where he will eclipse the likes of Kaka, Rui Costa, Del Pieiro, Signori and Roberto Baggio.

Jesus "Tecatito" Corona

El Explusivio

What do I see when he plays?

He's not your typical out and out winger, he's the new generation or revolutionized wideman who starts outside but enjoys cutting in abandoning the railroad down the flanks for a more conventional track inside the full back and last defender that has been an art for so many centreforwards in the past.

He has an ability to control the space around him whether that's with his back to goal down the flanks or facing the full back square on although many of wide man can do this what makes Jesus special is his speed over 200m, uncanny quickness of feet like a young Cristiano Ronaldo which has defenders guessing but most importantly he has a coolness under pressure and is willing to abort a run/throughball unless he's 100% sure.

That being said his first touch is impecible for such a young player elluding to the possibilities of having a coventional career as a No.10 through the centre later on especially with that strikers instinct to be int he right place at the right time making him a constant threat in every area of the pitch - not many in the world have this dynamism.

Where can this player go?

Your archetypal Mexican winger, slight of frame, quick feet, rapid over 200m but Jesus is more than that and is quite possibly the brightest prospect to come out of Mexico since Cuauhtemoc Blanco. Jesus Corona probably has the ability to claim a position on the bench in the National team at present although another season under his belt at Monterrary and a successful campaign at U20 could prompt urgent action from Europes elite to claim his services.

Jherson Vergara Amú

El Máquina

What do I see when he plays?

It's impossible to miss the presence of Vergara on the football pitch standing just over 6ft 2in tall and he doesn't go about his work quitely with natural born leadership tendancies inspiring conversation, direction and motivation throughout the 90 minutes with his peers, his fully blooded challenges, power in the air and acceleration over 100m makes him one of the most imposing centre backs of his age.

The star qualities that makes Vergara the most promising centrebacks in world football within his age group is his recovery rate that stacks up as being already of a La Liga, Serie A and Premiership level and even though he has this remarkable ability to make up ground on an attacker in oceans of space it's his positional awarness alongisde anticipation for danger that enables him to infrequently use his recovery ability.

Vergara is already playing with the mentality of a 30yo veteran but the main downfal in his game which may scupper his development to become one of the best defenders around is his temprement on the ball, an ineffective drive from deep and too many wayward passes - this can all be worked on in time, with his maturity he should be able to overcome this deficiencies.

Where can this player go?

A.C Milan have acted quickly in securing the services of Vergara which could prove to be a very shrewd purchase in the long run. There's still a long way to go for Vegara but with the recent revelation of Varane at Real Madrid and the need for new blood in the centrehalf position at A.C Milan it wouldn't be a surprise to see him edge into contention a the San Siro and possibly we could be talking about a Champions Leauge final in 2-3 years time where we compare Vergara with Varane.

There's no better place for him to go if he wants to become the ultimate defender at A.C Milan under the tutorlige of Baresi, Maldini, Nesta who have famously contributed to a sacred way of defending that has given Italy many great moments that remains an insurmountable task to replicate unless under the presence of such greats and he may be the next in line for captancy at Milan in 2-3 years time.

What do I see when he plays?

A very tall young athlete who makes time appear to stop when in tight spaces allowing the luring of opposition into unwinnable traps as he exposes open spaces with exqusite passing ability and the weight of control that you can feel through your television screen.

Why do I put him in this thread?

This guy was made for Hollywood, he oozes style and charisma at such a young age out of the Redondo, Javier Martinez or Motta mould which he could easily surpass if he fulfils his potential. The reason he is here is because his profession is a dying breed, his lack of pace is considered a weakness but he has shown that this issue is a fallacy through the power of the mind and being in the right place at the right time.

Where can this player go?

To the very top of the sport, one of the highest earners in European Football and go close to winning a Ballon D'Or.

How will he get there?

2013/2014 – 15 starts for PSG + 20 Substitute appearances including 5 Assists, 2 goals.

2014/2015 – Break through into the International squad, push Verratti for a starting spot, 25 starts for PSG + 10 Substitute appearances including 13 Assists, 7 goals.

2015/2016 – Become first team regular at PSG, play crucial part in getting to Champions League Final, fiend off transfer speculation and bids of £40m+ and earn his name in Euro 2016 as the competitions best player and leading assist maker.

2016/2017 – Become captain of PSG, win Ligue 1, win Champions League, including 16 Assists, 10 goals in all competitions.

2017/2018 – Become captain of France, secure back to back Ligue 1 titles and finish the season sealing a move to Real Madrid for £45m.

good shout
