Would You fly in a plane with no windows?

the windows are made of plexiglas, i dont know what materials would be on board a flight to smash/ crack one, also they're layered

starting to think you havent been on a plane before lens mate

so because I haven't attempted to break the window, I haven't been on a plane? ok mate

Lol the stretched acrylic the windows are made out of is stronger and more flexible than the metal on the planes exterior, you think they're just there for viewing pleasure yeh? Of course they're safe

they don't have windows on cargo flights, so yes, that's exactly what they're there for, also defeats the argument about "checking the outside of the plane"

that's like saying why do cars, buses and trains have windows to the sides

it has nothing to do with structural integrity but rather it's human behaviour

Its a weird feeling when there are no windows like in the channel tunnel

absence of light from the outside will make you feel trapped

military vehicles either have no or very small windows to the sides

bigger quesiton should be why aren't most seats rear-facing, again human behaviour

Windows are just there for passenger pleasure, it's what passengers want, it's what we're used to in all other forms of transportation..

Suppose being able to see your surrounding, seeing where you're going + natural light  probably makes the whole flying issue seem abit less daunting and helps put people at ease. Also the whole windows things helps relax the element of feeling held within a confined space.

Basically like the above said it's to do with human behavior.

Rear facing seats are scientifically safer, your body goes through 5-7 times less stress during a crash than it does with forward facing seats, and is under a similarly reduced threat of serious neck injury

Seats are designed facing forward because people want to see where they're going, though safety would necessitate otherwise
