Wayne Rooney Saga

Blunder of the century

"I want Rooney to stay to be back up striker"

What a c*ck

:/

First he says rooney is not for sale

Then he says he looks hungry and will score goals (both statements help prevent him going on the cheap)

Then two weeks later says he will be needed if van persie gets injured and is a backup...

And you think this was a blunder? Lol

Wouldn't even surprise me if United made Rooney sit himself down for another season before they sell him. If he gets his move now then that's a complete mugging tbh. Gave him the new contract when he had a tantrum last time and now giving into a move HE wants.

No player has took the piss like that when it comes to United.

This is debatable, Rooney only said what a lot of fans were saying at the time and similarly to this saga the inside information was leaked by the club with confirmation of the drama being announced by Fergie who gave an Oscar winning performance at that press conference.

Rooney hasn't come out and publicly slated the club, nor has he publicly met and spoke with represent ices of orher clubs in a deliberate attempt at twisting United's arm.

I'm no Rooney fan, (just look at the first saga for proof of that) but the drama here isn't of his doing.

To be specifics I'll highlight certain cases where players have taken the piss considerably more IMO.

Rio Ferdinand fails a drug test by default of missing it, (fair enough, human error) club and supporters vocally stand by him despite everyone saying and thinking that he was a bit of an idiot and that this should've all been avoided, he sits on his Ass whilst getting full pay for the best part of a season, He returns to a hero's welcome, Now instead of holding his hands up to his silly mistake and signing a years extension on the same terms terms, he embarks on a drawn out contract dispute with the club, whilst his agent and other Ferdinand Sources spout sh*t about how a move to Chelsea or the continent are on the cards, All this cumulates in Ferdinand having dinner with his agent whilst Peter Kenyon (now employed by Chelsea is also present) United realising that they may well lose out on a investment due to having paid £30 million for him, him being a decent age and coming to the end of his contract are left with the option of renew or lose him on the cheap. He Fucked United in the ass and walked of smiling with a newly secured pay rise.

Vidic and his agent,
Why is it every summer Vidic's agent feels the need to talk about just how many top clubs are interested in his client, The guy has come out with talk of how Mrs Vidic finds it hard in Manchester and that the family would be open to a move abroad, All of this of course is denied by Vidic. "Ohh this is just an agent being an agent of course" Ok but let's look over at Antonio Valencia who's agent started doing similar things after he had a great season, Valencia publicly distanced himself from what the agent was saying and then shortly afterwards parted ways with said agent.

Won't get into details on this one but after a Champions league victory to name but one honour a certain player agrees with Sepp Blatter and described having to stay at Manchester United as leaving him feeling like a Slave. This player despite these comments on demand could still have a line of Males of all ages lining up all the way down Chester road to Deansgate offering to perform fellatio on him if he was considering 'Gracing us with his presence again'

But of course Rooney has taken the piss more. I could list things further down the line of history but its pointless.
People have short memories.

hes one of the highest paid stars yet he cba to get fit before the season starts, typical british pub man

Rooney's biggest crime is he is overrated by the press and this leads to disappointment on the terraces when he doesn't live up to the expectations.

His second biggest crime is he is no longer the key man in the squad so his unprofessional behaviour is now ok to talk about. Whereas it was largely ignored before and laughed off.

On Vidic's agent, it's a very simple but smart game, you quietly tout your client around gauging interest, you leak some of the interest to the press who run with it. Once a big club publicly expresses interest and the Newspapers have done their bit this strengthens your hand in regard to contract negotiations with the current club. You then come out all sweetness and innocence and claim ignorance as to how the story got out and claim your client is flattered by the interest but is very happy in the current situation.

This is if course purely an opinion,

Edit, to clarify this opinion is based on general agent cuntishness and numerous articles in certain fanzines with a habit for being quite accurate and with a skill of predicting the future.

plays well for a full season not just after January like he has for the last three seasons

this is gas tho,

Bale had 14 goals by January, played well all season but just because he form in the 2nd half was ridiculous people seem to look over the first half.
