Owen Hargreaves is set to complete a move to Manchester United after Bayern Munich agreed a ã17million deal, according to reports in Germany. The England midfielder's protracted move to the Premiership champions, who lost the FA Cup final 1-0 to Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday, has been agreed according to a report on the website of German magazine Spiegel. The deal, believed to be worth 25million euros which would be a club record for the Bavarian team, will go through once Hargreaves signs a four-year contract, it has been reported. The Canadian-born England international refused to comment on the report when question following the conclusion of the Bundesliga season.Hargreaves missed Bayern Munich's 5-2 win over Energie Cottbus because of a knee injury, so it looks like he has already played his last game for the club after 10 years. The midfielder was spotted by Bayern scouts while playing for the Calgary Foothills and he made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 19.He has played a total of 145 league games and featured as Bayern won the Champions League in 2001.

Boosted his transfer fee playing in the World Cup...should realistically be worth 7 million max.
Worth at least ã14 million. He is a top player for what he does.
Not world class is he. Again English players are hyped...Carrick was never worth 15 million was he.

ã35m on Hargreaves and Carrick.Wow........
Yeah way over priced for them two.Dunno how good this will be, sometimes hargreves is swag and basic as anyone. other times he can play well and give 110% in the engine room. And is he going to get a starting place, between him and carrick to partner scholes in midfield.Though i think he might be ok in champs league as he could do a job at stoping the attacking mids ofover teams, and player roataion will help players compete on all fronts.

Bayern Munich have agreed to sell Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United.Club president Franz Beckenbauer told German TV: "Owen is leaving. That was the player's wish. It's a good match and it's also a good deal financially."Beckenbauer said the transfer fee was "in the range" of ã17m - which would be a record for a Bundesliga player.Hargreaves, 26, has been at Bayern for 10 years but after starring for England at the World Cup last year, he admitted he wanted to play in the Premiership.United quickly moved to open negotiations with Bayern and made offers in the summer transfer window and in January but the German club refused to sell - until now.Hargreaves is expected to sign a four-year deal with the newly-crowned Premiership champions.
