I love Football Manager as much as the next fiend but I don't get what everyones getting excited about. I can count on one hand the actual features they've listed. I don't see how bigger fan reactions, more news and a few tactical sliders takes a year to create. Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age.

Am I being trolled or are people genuinely happy with with these?

 

 

 

Improved Match Engine - they do this for free every patch.

 

Tactical overhaul - they update this for free every patch. Overhaul will mean a few new position names which you can already alter yourself and a few new sliders.

 

More realistic transfers and contracts - o.k

 

More sophisticated board interaction - great.

 

Improved interaction with players, staff and media - I now get to fine DIouf for 3 weeks and ask my assistant to speak to the press more, lucky us.

 

News system - incredible state of the art feature.

 

Enhanced user interface - best feature ever, now if we could only download new skins.

 

Football Manager Classic evolved - don't use it. Evolved probably means slower load times and more bugs on release.

 

 

 

 

NEW! New Player Roles 

There are 8 new player roles in Football Manager 2014: Half back, target flank man, limited FB, complete wing back, enganche, regista, false no.9, shadow striker 

 

You can already change the sliders to create these kinds of roles yourself so this is redundant.

 

NEW! Training Camps 

FM2014 will have training camps properly integrated into the training calendar, allowing you to fully manage your pre-season training. 

 

Is this seriously a feature? How dare they actually claim this as something to be excited about. For a start it should of been added in when training camps were. Training camps do f*ck all in the current version anyway.

 

NEW! Split Training Days 

FM2014 improves the training calendar allowing you to split single days into both Rest and Match Preparation.

 

Worthless.

 

NEW! Fixture Previews 

FM2014 adds regular news items previewing the next round of league fixtures 

 

Just what I always wished for, I'm in awe of this one.

 

NEW! Conditional Loan Repayments 

FM14 features more tranfer options when loaning players including conditional loan payments e.g "£500k repayable on promotion 

 

Finally something I might actually use twice a season.

 

NEW! Fixture rearrangement or postponement 

Football Manager 2014 Features the ability for you to request fixture rearrangement or postponement if a number of your players are unavailable such as being called up for international duty 

 

This was available 4 games ago and then taken out probably so they could add it onto this sh*t list.

FM14 features new and improved, streamlined Continental Qualification seeding news stories in your inbox before draws are made

Genuine feature which should be useful. Not worth a new game though.

Your Football Manager 2014 transfer budget will now take into consideration all the clauses included in a transfer, not just the main fee. 

 

Minor change. Clauses should of been taken out of budgets from about CM 97/98

 

NEW! Where are they now in Transfer History 

The transfer history page in Football Manager 2014 now has a "where are they now" button, allowing you see how a player has progressed after leaving your club. 

 

I may use this twice a save.

 

NEW! Reprimanding Captains 

In Football Manager 2014 you can reprimand captains for bad behaviour and remind them that they should be more of a role model. 

 

Actually useful maybe twice a season.

 

NEW! Define favourite formation 

You can now define your own favourite formation when creating a new manager in Football Manager 2014.

NEW! Leak interest in job to the press 

FM2014 adds the ability to leak your interest in a job at another club to the press rather than just applying directly.

NEW! Make players available for youth squads 

Football Manager 2014 will allow you to make players available for the youth squads as well as just the reserves.

NEW! Fixture list includes potential cup opponents 

When viewing your fixture list in FM2014 you will now see potential fixtures and opponents for future cup matches rather than waiting for the draw to be confirmed.

NEW! Assistant Manager takes control of training 

In Football Manager you can assign your Assistant Manager to take control of all the different aspects of training. 

 

Great.

 

NEW! Real time editor 

An official FM14 real time editor will be released for FM2014 allowing you to edit various aspects of your saved game, not just new games. 

 

Going to be a paid feature. The old editor was free. F*ck you.

 

 

Plus a load more worthless crap. Continue to endorse and encourage mediority. I'd prefer the few decent features listed and a MUCH faster game with less bugs and an updated player base for £10. The rest is just filler.
