And here in a nutshell lies the problem with young english players

 

Barkley has shown to have a nice touch & decent striking ability with both feet - nothing overly amazing, deffo potential

 

He holds onto the ball for too long, doesn't see a pass quick enough & relinquishes possession easily

 

Martinez is a brave man playing him in the hole

 

imo The belgium lad at Utd is a much better player, you can see he has the quality & vision instantly, just lacks the physical attributes of Barkley

 

Ravel needs to step up when called upon, he's better than all these young english guys (barkley, redmond, will hughes etc)

 

People get very carried away with young players

Everton played good stuff under moyes though, the crowd were getting vexed coz baines is a deadball specialist & jags/distin/jelavic are good in the air yet martinez is encouraging them to play it short

 

I don't think there is an english player, who is more comfortable at receiving the ball in tight positions & turning than osman (maybe leon britton), Osman is too underrated, it was his cross to jelavic that helped make that goal
