He’s willing to use both feet. He’s not scared to shoot with his weaker foot. Andros Townsend, 22, can go all the way if his temperament is right.

Look at Townsend’s tenacity and how he sprints with the ball, compressing the defender’s reaction time, and note how willing he is to use both feet. Defenders hate players who can go both ways, just as they hate goalscorers with pace.

Townsend needs to develop his shooting technique and put a higher percentage on target.

He’s had his thrilling debut night at Wembley but this just a beginning. If he can make the difference against Poland, we might have a player.

Arjen Robben didn’t become a champion overnight. It took years of hard work and practice to become the 29-year old match-winning monster he is now.

These days Robben is scoring roughly a goal ever other game for Bayern and Holland.

For Spurs and England, Andros should aim to be like Arjen.

Just watched 'Soccer AM - The Best Bits' and on 'Team mates (England)' Defoe said Ashley Young was the most skillful

Was watching as well lol

"Ash has got great feet, he's got all the chops"

:lmao:

He just annoys me, the way he runs, his hunchback everything.

If he ever tried to chop me in training I'd Ben Thatcher him.
