• 611,779 “non-active” EU migrants were living in Britain last year, up from 431,687 just six years ago. The total is equivalent to the population of Glasgow;

• The number of EU migrants coming to Britain without a job increased by 73 per cent in the three years to 2011;

• The current annual cost to the NHS of “non-active” EU migrants is estimated at £1.5 billion (€1.8 billion);

• In contrast, the estimated cost to France’s health system of “non-active” EU migrants is a fraction of that to the NHS, at just £3.4 million.

The report was written for Brussels and ordered by Laszlo Andor, the socialist commissioner in charge of employment and social inclusion.

The Sunday Telegraph can disclose that he is to bring a court case to make it easier for European migrants to claim benefits in Britain.

shocking look how big france is compared to the uk. :rip:

I don't believe it. Can you really just bop into a Job Centre, flash your Latvian passport, and tell them you need JSA?

Sadly yes .

I got this tenant in one of my dads property, some polish dude like early 20s. Came in the country like 2 years ago. The council pays his rent to us, £350 for a room. Pays for his food & some other perks.  Lazy c*nt is fit & well. Just snoozes in doors all day.  He is a labourer (Well he claims) But gets to do some cash in hand jobs every now and again. Think  they pay his college fees and all.

Fucks off to poland every xmas & summer. Pretty sure he manages to save from the money they give him to travel out.

Its easy to live calm in the uk as a european citizen.

Can't knock these man. A Landlord with a council tenant is a tidy hustle still

Afroman you have it twisted mate.

Most EU/EEA citizens need to have a job in the UK before they receive housing benefit.

So how are they managing to pay his rent to us then?

He has not worked from the time we took him on.

We did also write a letter to increase his rent a few weeks ago and the council as approved.

There is either something I don't know about his situation. But I am certain I am spot on.

I've just googled it and PDF from Shelter is saying the same thing. Maybe there is something you don't know about his situation?

I do agree. Landlords are eating very nicely from the entire housing situation. I know of tenancies that are being signed off by the council for 5-6 bills a week for a 3 bedroom in the grimiest spots in Newham. Actually nuts. Temporary accomodation is the worst. If you are a landlord with a link at the council, it's happy days mate.

Bang bang DSS money gang

They have no respect for the premises though

I hear that.

To be fair this polish geezer has been pretty respectful to the property & well behaved. Does some DIY job every now and again too.

 just have to lay the rules, Got another woman in there too so they split house keeping duties.

Don't f*ck with that polish guy Afro

he's probably a sleeper agent.

lmfao

You know what wouldn't surprise me.

There is like a glass frame on top of his door.  Which allows light from the corridor to come in. Guys taped some dark cardboard from inside to cover the glass. Then he has black duck tape covering the gap below his door when shut.

I did consider turfing  him months ago. because there is no way someone is sane living in a room closed virtually 24/7, No friends, family guests nothing. I asked the other tenant and she says he is always in the room.

weird guy.
