Everyone speaking truth.

English culture will not allow the avenues necessary to be used to advance business of this nature.

Look at how militant the Government was after the riots, man getting 2 years for teefing a box of fags and shit, they were looking for absolutely everybody to set an example.

This is the country of the stiff upper lip, you might not see the upper classes regularly but when they need to they will let you know they are still in control.

co-sign the Euro rap thread.

Yeah French and german rappers are eating calm.  I think someone mentioning the language been more appealing in those countries.

Was hearing something about france have a percentage of English/us music they are allowed can play on their air waves..

Yeah they have a set percentage same with the french movie business which is why french cinema is always booming and UK films, true UK made films not US financed ones struggle to get distribution and screen time over here.

Police dont effect the music you make... They shouldn't effect your shows either if you aren't or roll with a bag of criminals known to the police.

Its hard to be a 'trap/road rapper' and not be known to roll with criminals known to the police though, i think thats the point.

When you trap do you roll with a bag of man to trap? No, cos its bait.

So why you need them man with you in your other line of work?

You don't need to roll with them on a daily basis for the police to know your affiliations thats the point.

Police will shut down your show because your affiliated to such and such person, such and such gang, in fears it will incite violence.

And also rap and streets have been intertwined since the inception, all of a sudden just because you blow doesn't mean you have to stop rolling with the guys you used to. In the 90's golden era, Mobb Deep, Nas, Biggie, every single rapper more time rolled with people that had serious criminal backgrounds some still do, thats just the nature of rap given its a genre that originated from the black underclasses.

I'm aware of all this, but there are means. Man here just like being bait and some need the strengthen in numbers as if the streets know, and the police know, as you blow you dont need to keep letting the police connect the two, as it will be you that suffers...

Giggs is a bit different, as they REALLY want his bro. Like he's always gonna struggle for that reason and you can't unassociate with your brother.

That said never got why he didnt get his label to arrange his tour and legally fight the attempts of the police, with the right money must be able to argue its harrassment.

The glass ceiling is very evident in uk though in the music industry

The shutdown of road rap music is definitely there.

I know certain boroughs are working with youtube & police to lock off certain videos. Its becomes a problem when these road rappers start generating a buzz o some sort of income.

The whole gangster culture is definitely not tolerated over here. Uk will rather preserve that royal image its globally known for and built over the years and rightly so.

apart from pop and sometimes rock music just does not sell in the uk . from grime,to funky,to drum and bass,to rap,to uk garage it just dont sell . its mainly to do with the size of the u.k and artists not willing to atleast try and conquer america

Doesn't sell or nobody within the labels knows how to sell it unwatered/balanced?

Both , also labels are barely willing to take risks with american rappers let alone british ones . Another thing we have to remember is  that england is not america  . Americans can say what the hell they  want about pretty much  anything and its free speach . You do that over here and the police are getting your shows canceled because of a "fear of violence"

Also what we have been seeing in the uk over the past few years is that the uk rap scene has been flooded with hundreds of "rappers" but no rappers . What i mean by that is the rappers over here are  roadmen that are making their shitty rap videos on sum aggy tip, just tryna boost their ego,and let everyone know they are from "the streets ya get me blood" instead of actually trying to be proper professional artists .Uk rappers are roadmen not musicians .

It sells... They don't take risks cos they dont know how to market a record. They will claim everything you say but the reality is, nobody in them buildings cares about rap music.

I don't disagree, but an audience lapped it up, so what do you expect.

UK doesn't promote conscious rap.

Only U.S imitations of gangster lifestyle since it sells and the young kids gobble it up. Which rap group in the UK compares to something like Public Enemy which brought people together and fought the system. Aint no group doing that in the UK. And i dont think you will see SBTV doing that either. Its embarrassing.
