Football people always talk about a goal  "going into the break" affecting Your confidence, etc

But if they score just after half time, You've just undone the team talk, and You can continue to play confidently without a 15 minute break in between

I'd argue that a goal directly after half time is more damaging to the opposition than directly before.

Depends on the flow of game.

If a team has been dominating Manager will have his team talk ready, if they concede just before the break he might change it slightly to the detriment of the team.

Both teams are vulnerable straight after a goal, 1 team is deflated the other complacent, best time to score.

I'm going with before.

Negative emotion can linger and theres not much you can do about it during half time (Other than a pep talk which might not have the desired effect) which in turn can affect performance for the rest of the game.

At least if you concede that goal directly after the restart you can at least use your anger to try get back in the game. That anger would dissipate during half time.
