Was labelled and viewed as one the best young playmakers in Europe

Good dribbling, skills, nice bit of flair etc

Comes to England and has the flair sucked out of him, is turned into some engine player

Is never used in the position he was played in at his two previous clubs,

Has a good game, is dropped the next 5 games,

End result, an overweight player who seems to have had all his ability stolen from him.

Arguably the only player in his prime we have signed

Was never really given a fair crack of the whip and enough faith put in him

---------------Scholes------------------

--Giggs--Veron---Keane----Beckham

Should have led to us becoming one of the dominant teams in the CL and been the backbone to use winning more CL titles and growing to a more European style of play

Ends up getting cashed in on and sold to Chelsea because we didnt have the confidence to run through with it

Player of the year for the German Champions

Growing into one of the best #10s in Europe

Can pass, score, dribble, excellent movement, great at making space for other players

We sign him to again try and move into the 21st century

One season later, he has played a couple games on the left wing but  mostly on the bench, now we have signed Mata to take his space on the wing, he is not exclusively on the bench

It is a disgrace

4. and 5. Pogba and Morrison

220030d1327970709-united-way-pogba-morri

Both clearly too good for the reserve teams

MOM performances, great goals, skills and assists.

Two of our greatest prospects since the class of Scholes/Beckham etc

Neither were given a chance at all

We lacked creativity but didnt get Ravel any minutes

We lacked presence and ability in CM but didnt get Pogba any minutes

One is now in the Championship with the potential of his career going to waste from poor management

One is now one of the key players for the Italian Champions and wanted by Real and PSG

Both IMO if given the chance they earned and deserved would be starting week in, week out for us now and saved us over 80 million in transfer fees

6. Rooney to every fan and player at the club

The fact this guy starts week in week out, is given consultation on transfers/possible transfers, has caused players better than him in his position to be sold/benched/played out of position, has handed in two transfer requests, is going to earn 300k a week and cannot do the basic of a player in his position is, just, there is no words for it

Dunno what the managers ego had to do with Jaap Stam's sale. If you think Manchester United in the early 2000's would've sanctioned a players book without first reading then approving you're crazy. Stam was sold for other reasons, not coz he was "a little off the pace" either

Stam was sold then failed a drugs test shortly after

Dutch national fitness coaches were juicing players

De Boar and Davids failed tests in May and June that year. I imagine United intelligently did some research found out what the dutch coaches were doing. Put Stam's name on the market to certain clus, got a £15 million + offer for someone who was nearly 30 and thought, go for it, avoid the scandal and replace him, we're strong enough at the time to be flippant about it.

The book was a welcome distraction/red herring. I think the notion that United would allow a player to release a book without checking it first is ludicrous. The notion that Fergie was beginning to doubt Stam's ability was eben more ludicrous especially when we see Scholes being brought back, Giggs being a regular, Rio still about and Neville was played till he could barely walk never mind run

I just checked, Stam failed the test in November after being sold in the August.................

Will mostly be repeating so ill just say ones that annoyed me in general.

1st off Beckford.

Everything you could want in a striker, blistering pace, 2 footed, headers, screamers, composure, runs.

Most goals in a season for Leeds since Lee Chapman, 1st person to score 34 in a season since John Charles in the 50's.

85 in 3 seasons despite coming from lower than the Conference.

Goals against Man Utd, Spurs, Liverpool and twice against Chelsea.

F'd about at Everton and has to drop down a division to get football (fuck this country sometimes) while I'm watching man like Grant Holt, Ricky Lambert, Hooper (who Beckford all outscored) and even lesser strikers than them getting regular Prem football.

Kyle Bartley (most wont agree) but he never got a chance, maybe he was too impatient and didnt wait for his chance I dont know. But it pissed me off seeing the likes of Squillaci ahead of him, even Justin Hoyte got a chance ffs.

I think he will become a very good centre back, he was decent on loan at Rangers. And I watched him multiple times for the reserves at Barnet and he was always one of the better performers.

Arsenal could do with a promising centre back right now.
