ghostwriting

Recommended Posts

Why is it called 'ghost writing' in hiphop but 'writing' in all other genres? Unless the person has been omitted from the credits, the 'ghost' title is unnecessary.

Some rappers are just useless knowing where to go on a beat tho...

The Dips (by no means the only ones) for example, use to regularly use others to reference tracks for him.

They didn't use their lyrics nor intented too, just wanted to see where they would go with it... Then might dabble with bits of it or keep them on the track.

Plus obviously some rappers just steal other peoples songs.

Swear Rhymefest was meant to be on Jesus Walks moreso than Kanye needing him to write him a verse.

I wanna know who use to ghostwrite for Dr Dre

go to wikipedia then

no it's called ghost writing in every form of written art where someone writes on behalf of another person

"ghostwriter is a writer who writes books, articles, stories, reports, or other texts that are officially credited to another person."

ergo: no one has ghostwritten for Dr Dre, the writers are officially credited

my point was in rnb and pop no one calls them ghostwriters (they simply call them writers), but in rap they are 'ghost-'

on the note of ghostwriting: Nas cleaned up the rumour the other month that he in fact did NOT write Will Smith's Gettin Jiggy Wid It, he was just in the studio when Will did
