What's your salary?

The S&P index has grown at an average rate of 12% for about 60 years.

If you put that on Voo that should be worth a mill+ in 25 years.

Do it from a Stocks Isa that way no capital gains to pay when you want to withdraw.

Safe for info. Ive got a couple of accounts which give you 6% interest but limited to putting in £500 a month. Obv got an isa but reached the allowance for this year. The rest of my money is kept in the santander 123 account which has the best interest rate of the high street banks

  • First Direct - 6% monthly saver (around £300/month deposit)
  • HSBC - 6% monthly saver (around £300/month deposit)
  • TSB - 5% up to £2k
  • Nationwide - 5% up to £2k
  • Lloyds - 4% up to £5k
  • Santander - 3% up to £20k but £5/month fee
  • BOS - 3% up to £5k
  • Tesco - 3% up to £3k
  • Halifax - £5 per month

may be a little off on the numbers there but if you have a little time to spare to set up everything you can make your money work for you a little better than just 3% if you put all the accounts in the mix (see here http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:b3GaziEJAFQJ:www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-loophole+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk)

that said, I need to step into the investment game

I had a little look around and found the 123 santander the best. 3% a month interest upto 20k, much better than any flexible ISA I've had
