So these are the reasonings for people's inclusion on the 'power' list.
 

On Wednesday 9th July a panel of 1Xtra DJ's featuring, Twin B, Yasmin Evans, Sarah-Jane Crawford, DJ Target and industry experts got together to compile 1Xtra’s Power List’ - The Top 20 Most Important UK Artists In The Scene. There was passion, there was shouting, there was negotiation – the debate was serious. The list is now complete, see who made the grade.

 

20. Dizzee Rascal

"Recently released his 5th Album, that's huge! not many artists are still as relevant as Dizzee that have been with 1Xtra from the start." - Twin B

  19. Wretch 32

"Still regarded by his peers and as the best MC in the UK and bringing through diverse talent via Renowned" - Twin B.

 

18. Laura Mvula

"A Gold album and recognition from the likes of Alicia Keys, Jill Scott and more" - Twin B.

 

17. Giggs

"The underground rap king released his 2nd album on XL this year" - Twin B.

 

16. Wiley

BBC 1 xtra is a white establishment so their opinion is null and void. 1xtra was set up to capitalise and control urban music and even though its fronted as a black station , its nothing but another corporate tool to exploit black culture using black employee's /dj's. Opinions are like assholes and assholes like the bbc 1xtra are full of shit, they are simply trying to overrate one of their own. If he is so influential on black and urban music stop any black person and street to name 5 of his songs. This is the shit with these radio or media outlets if you let them dictate
