So basically hes just now doing what weve been screaming for him to do for years

#progress

Saying that i think i wrote detailed version of him to just do that role but at the time i said rvp was perfect because he does that and is better then rooney at it.

Dont mind wayne if he does that job but still the position can be upgraded on hugely

lol was thinking this when nevile was talking about this yesterday

happy LVG clocked

No surprise that we're playing better football and getting more joy on the left side of the pitch when Mr 'Hollywood pass to the right wing' 3HUNNA spends less time in the ball.

You see this overload thing

3 on 2 or 3 on 1(when the RW has had enough running backwards) is working a treat

During the Juanfield game I was thinking the trio on the right would be good if Mata and Herrera had a right back on the same wavelength as them in the final 3rd.

They will

RB/RM/DM against Blind,Young,Felliani

It works a treat for

Real-Marcelo,James,Cristiano and sometimes Benzema joins in the overload

Barca-Alba,Iniesta,Neymar

It's the underlying principle of positional play.

Creating an advantage through numerical, positional & qualitative superiority.

Not that easy to nullify imo.

First you need good enough players with a coach that has strong tactical nous.

Secondly it could take weeks to nullify it with the correct amount of training, analysis then corrections.

Was going to make a pre Chelsea game thread and discuss it in there.

Neville thinks Jose will put Zouma on Fellaini, but Van Gaal will know that. Been wondering if I can see us switching play to the right and moving some personnel around.

Can definitely see Mourinho double pivot, sitting back at home, Cesc doesn't have the discipline to mark Carrick all game.

Will post more later about my thoughts on it when I get home.

Exact same that Rooney did against City.

Only difference being City tried to take part in a football match so Rooney had more space whereas Falcao was up against 3 CBs.

Even after the game when Terry said Chelsea were relived that Rooney starting in midfield because of his passing being so effective - surely playing deeper vs a Chelsea line that began in their own box made Rooney more of a threat?

What was Falcao meant to do against Zouma, Terry, Cahil, Azpi, Matic, Ivanovic all sitting deep?

Wayne Rooney has scored just once in his last 17 away games in the Barclays Premier League.

The Manchester United striker's last goal away from home came at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal on November 22 before the turn of the year.
