This conversation is often confused by people comparing the players careers as opposed to the players at the peak of their powers.

Fact is Lampard has the highest level of consistency, problem is does he really have a peak or is it just a high level of consistency?

Man United won the CL without Keane. Yes he was instrumental in getting them there. What was his best season though?

Gerrard at the peak of his powers broke 20 goals and 20 assists in the same season.

Scholes was without a doubt the best offensive player of the bunch imo.

Vieira could do it all but wasn't a great goalscorer, but he did win almost all there was to win as a player.

The questions that I would pose is would Scholes be as great without Keane behind him?

Would Vieira have been as successful without Henry in front of him?

Gerrard won all but 1 thing he can win at club level, and he did it with Cisse playing up front.

This is too hard, as it was last time. I'm staying biased. A midfielder at the peak of his powers that can break 20-20 thats who I'm taking.

Keane is the player of the bunch that would not be taken as he offers no goal scoring threat. Vieira can do what he did, Gerrard could too, granted not as well.

Yeah some good points. The criteria basically is who was the best player outta the bunch strictly based on talent/application/match winning performances/consitancy oppossed to who had the best career e..g who won the most medals

Vieira was a great and powerful athlete as well though. He was like a perfect combination of technical Footballing ability and athletcism

Maybe I need to watch Keane's career, but I always thought he was overrated.

Ability wise I wouldn't even have him in a conversation with the other 4.

Scholes is the 1 player of the 5 that you couldn't play deep. His tackling was atrocious.

What does tackling have to do with playing deep

I don't see Jon Obi Mikel or Gattuso in that list
