So he's right that my GP appointments have gone from 48 hours to 2 weeks because the general public have suddenly decided to stop turning up for their appointments?

If you are generally unwell, but not in need of urgent medical attention you will go to see your GP. But what tends to happen now is you go to the surgery as it is about to open and you can book an appointment on that day usually that morning if its an emergency. But you said yours is not an emergency so why would a gp need to see you at nine in the morning with your little niggle? while he has a toddler crying its eyes out with bronchitis that is not productive
People like to do shit like have a cough book an appointment the shit clears they miss the appointment.
While you have a GP sitting there eating biscuits getting paid anything up to £1,800.00 a hour not doing shit.
So if you was to call with a cough and they tell you two weeks you will say no I cant wait that long they will say come down to the clinic as emergency or go hospital. Everything is about productivity
So for instance if you have some sort of niggle like a pain in the hip you are likely to make that appointment that is why they will tell you to come in two weeks this shit is analysed and analysed over and over again.
Truth of the matter allot of this information is weighed up put into statistics turn't into policy's everything is about productivity and efficiency don't even know why immigration is even being discussed with this.
You would of been more on the right path if you spoke about NHS tourist

What are you saying ? Are you expecting me to buy the reason waiting times have rocketed is because all of a sudden in the past decade British people have decided they won't attend their appointments any more.......
And Somalian. I'm not even debating what people go to the Doctors for, whether it's an emergency or not. The consensus is that longer waiting times is a negative thing not a positive. And IMO it's down to a boom in the population.

Indeed. Still waiting for the UAF members of the forum to run in crying racism.

perhaps what you can take from those points is that as the population count rises the hospital + doctor count doesn't equally rise, which means that a system that has always been inefficient starts to show

What are you basing your opinion on other than racism though?
In all fairness you linking longer waiting times to immigration is nothing more than speculation and conjecture

You'll have to explain what's "racist" with wanting controlled immigration.
I did say IMO about the waiting times, and I do think it's an opinion that holds more weight than someone telling me the British suddenly all decided at the same time to stop attending their appointments.

Doesn't this reinforce the point I share with Farage though? A booming population that the country isn't equipped to deal with, nor could it ever plan ahead to deal with when the numbers are not controlled.

Believe what you want everything is productivity efficiency and money.
Let me break this down even further for you, the nhs is a business at the end of the day
For you to go the doctor its not free. It has to be paid for (this is what I actually do for a living).
When a person misses an appointment the local nhs provider still needs to pay the doctor
For someone to come in for a general check up which I think is what you want to be seen for ?
that still has to be paid for. Your primary diagnosis will be some bullshit that pays out hardly anything so this is why the doctor will ask you if you are a smoker etc for you being a smoker the clinic will get an extra £100 for seeing you if you had a co mobility like Asthma that pays out £500. This is one of the reasons they ask you these questions to get more money out of the visit.
These appointments generally do not pay out allot of money. So for the sake of productivity you are not made a priority and of course seeing those more poorly is common sense
Now you have people who are really sick and GP can give a definite diagnosis Guess What that pays out much more so it makes sense to make them people priority because they bring the money in. They are the referrals to the hospital what brings money into this.
But you said you would put longer waiting times because of immigration? Not the unhealthy diet of the nation? The boom in alcohol consumption binge drinking so on and so forth?
I think those two things in particular have more of an effect on waiting times.
You now have more people being diagnosed diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, cancers all this effects clinics
but you would rather ignore all of that and say yeah immigration is the cause.

I don't really know where you are going with the whole explanation of cost etc.... I have an opinion that sits well with me that the reason the waiting times have increases at my surgery was down to the amount of people they are having to deal with now. Your argument back to me was that nope, it is down to people deciding not to attend their appointments any more which I found ridiculous.
So you fully believe that a booming population has zero to do with it?
