Ramos will get a new deal and Woodward will shake down Perez for some more euros.Woodward kicks off talks for 5 La Liga stars for Man United, he's on a mission

Edward Woodward continues to troll Real Madrid according to the latest reports from Spain. On Sunday Cadena Cope said that when Real Madrid asked for David De Gea, Woodward replied by asking how much Sergio Ramos would cost. This adds to earlier reports that Woodward had already asked about signing all of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane. Five of the Spanish club's biggest stars.
We covered those claims on June 9th and added: 'At Sport Witness we have a genuine wish that Woodward is simply on the wind-up and will perhaps call Real Madrid tomorrow and ask for Sergio Ramos, then try for Luka Modric and James Rodriguez the next day and keep doing the same until Madrid either come up with a good offer for De Gea or forget about the transfer. Then we want a fly on the wall documentary of the whole thing televised.'
Everyone seems to be using Ramos right now. Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Majo said last week that he'd been offered the player by an intermediary to use in his campaign to be elected. Vote for Majo, get Ramos. That was very quickly denied and sounded like nonsense from the off but some in Madrid were still irked by the situation, believing it could be an attempt by the Ramos camp to force Madrid into offering a huge new contract.
There's been a big thing made of Ramos almost being in the final two years of his current contract and Madrid preferring to get renewals done before then but the fact is that until July he isn't in the final two years and it would only start looking odd if things were left until the winter with no effort from the Spanish club.
Ramos just adds to the list of the other names Woodward has apparently asked for, it's a list which has been growing and it would appear that any time Madrid start talks for De Gea, Man United start talks for someone the Spanish club doesn't want to sell. We could change the 5 in the headline of this article to 6 or more and have something to back that up. It's worth noting that on Friday Catalan newspaper Sport said Manchester United had Ramos, Isco, Modric and Benzema on their agenda. It's fun to poke Madrid with that particular stick.
This one goes nowhere unless Madrid are getting paranoid over Ramos and his agent brother Rene. That Manchester United have now been linked with asking for half of the Madrid team should lead to caution whenever anyone new is added. There must be Madrid players feeling left out at not being linked with Manchester United and Edward Woodward kicking off talks to sign them.
Ramos does want a new contract and will be asking for more than Madrid want to pay him, that's generally how these things work - especially when a player is 29 years of age and looking for his last big payday. He almost certainly expects to be the club's next captain if Iker Casillas goes and would want to underline that in case a certain Portuguese star had a bicep ready for the armband. Ramos rumours can potentially help so many people, perhaps it's just a surprise they didn't kick off earlier.
From a Manchester United perspective it's abundantly clear the club are doing everything they can to make Real Madrid's pursuit of De Gea as difficult as possible. The goalkeeper will almost certainly eventually go, whether this summer or next, but Woodward and Louis van Gaal seem determined to make it uncomfortable for Florentino Perez and Madrid.
Would be a shrewd signing
We need a stiff face German c*nt in midfield
Still need a younger dlp though
If it had been 2 years ago I would've said great signing but I think he's way past his best.

Don't even want to throw the cliché out there but he won't handle the pace and intensity of the prem.
