Harry Redknapp makes a good point

Recommended Posts

Redknapp has slammed Manchester United for missing the opportunity to sign Tottenham and ex MK Dons starlet Dele Alli.

The 19-year-old midfielder played his part in MK Dons famous 4-0 victory over the Red Devils in the Capital One Cup in August 2014.

Goals from strikers Benik Afobe and Will Grigg sealed the victory, and Redknapp has criticised Louis van Gaal for failing to recognise Alli's talent on the night.

Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Redknapp said: "You have to look at the people who recruit these players. United have scouts all across the world and yet they go to MK Dons last year, get beaten 4-0 in the League Cup, and no one seems to notice the teenage kid in central midfield who is the real deal.

"You would think someone might have said: "They murdered us, who was he?" It was Dele Alli.

"Tottenham then got him for £5 million in the next transfer window while United, who had experienced exactly what he could do, have spent £35 million or £40 million on worse players''
