Do you lot not see Stormzy as an entry level UK underground artist?
Different era and all that but I don't believe you have to be particularly in the know to have Stormzy on your radar
Same with So Solid 16 years ago

Stornzy is more big brothers/blazing squad

How much are Adidas paying you?
i don't even rate the breh as an artist I'd bump
however him droppin his album this year and not last is really good for U.K. music
I'm predicting a strong project
if that's what we get I will support
Will be good for Adidas when it drops
Not UK music
Stormzy's release is high profile
it's essentially an event
had it been last year it would have been lumped in with all the other successes
Grime still in the mainstream in 2017 is what I want
Look as far as stormzy goes as an individual best of luck to him
But if you're someone that has any real understanding of grime culture you would never say it's good for plants to get pushed to the front like this guy has been
How can the industry controlling whats hot and whats not be good for the culture?
That has never been what grime is about
Its what most black musical genres been about though. Labels and sponsor's controling what people consume. Controlling who and what messages/content get pushed in the mainstream
Grime not gonna be any different now it's monetizeable, because the current fans actually buy music, and the raves don't get locked off as much anymore because the demographic of the crowd has changed
Yeah I dunno how much I buy in to the whole plant talk tbh
bit tin hat for me
Stormzy's success benefits every artist in the scene imo, plant or not
/
who manages Stormzy?
No label involved whatsoever?
Who's this Fraser T Smith breh who's produced the album?
his resume is pop royalty

I'm up for exploring this plant thing
I'm not arguing against it

Cosign Bruno it is a little inauthentic, considering he does rinse the roadman rhetoric
however for some reason I wanna root for this breh
10-21 this would be your So Solid
he can bar as well

Too wild considering the inner city 10-21 year olds are listening to Harlem Spartans more than they are Stormzy.
