There needs to be some kind of vote on the terms. The brexit voters voted to close the border and stop paying money into the eu

Whatever it means for us, we should honour that vote if we claim to be democratic or at least confirm it in another referendum then honour it. 

Don't know how hard it is for a politician to say we're leaving, if You want to trade, we'll agree on terms, if not we won't.

For example the "divorce bill" includes 22billion we agreed to pay towards the eu budget for 2019 and 2020

 At the time we agreed that payment we agreed to pay it in return for the benefits of being in the Eu so that clearly no longer applies

Tory party isn’t in a position to be able to make the UK a tax haven. Maybe with a overwhelming majority and a lot of public support, and it has neither of those.

Classical conservativism principals are mostly opposing views with the eu. Old school Tory back benchers, and the elite hold classical conservatives values.

Okay I don't know irish history. Why is a hard border between Ireland and northern Ireland a problem.

And why can't we just leave the eu without constructing such a border if it's such a problem

Hopefully this can be the deciding factor in us remaining, it's stalling things nicely

Because there are the people who want one ireland and the people who want northern ireland to remain part of britain

The troubles were about that. The peace process settled things a bit. With a hard border that's setting in stone the split between the two Irelands, leading to disparity between the two places. Many people work in one and live in the other. It would crush the hope of anyone still hopin for a unified ireland and that could trigger them to start bombing up the place. Worse still if Westminster isnt seen to be doing something to stop it

Brexit without a hard border means that people will be able to travel in an out of the eu via ireland from Britain...

Always been interested in that part of Irish history but can only find little chunks.

Wanna go all the way back to the Irish potato famine, easter rising, troubles etc.
