There's a subset of people who see these guys as heroes. Poor idiots who just think they're just poor now momentarily until they get that break, but soon they'll be rich just like these guys and other poor people are just holding them back and have no ambition.

You see it with Trump voters in the US

Yep,

That's it.

The reality is they are more closer on the benchmark to those at the bottom than these guys at the top.

Meanwhile the guys at the top are telling them hey, look those guys at the bottom is why you are there.

The concept is actually fucked.

The thought process of believing that you are actually  winning team  is enough to get you by on a day to day basis.

Fuck that. I get being aspirational and wanting more in life but seeing these guys as hero's vs learning a thing or two is different.

They and their hound dogs in the media got ppl more concerned about the small fry. Oh of course no doubt, there will be a one off "special report" investigative programme on itv, Bbc and ch5... But nothing compared to the onslaught of programmes on same channels about benefit scroungers, don't pay we'll take it away, and those pesky immigrants.

What has Cameron actually done wrong? So what, he benefited from tax arrangement he had nothing to do with? There is nothing wrong or illegal with the type of collective investment fund his father setup, neither can the establishment of such funds be described as 'tax avoidance'. He may be hypocritical, but he is much, much less hypocritical than the Benns ( Tony Benn helped his children avoid paying tax on more than 5 million pounds), the Ummuna family (his family's £1 million pound house was paid through an offshore trust), Ed Milliband (Ed miliband used a 'deed of variation to substanstially reduce the amount of inheritance tax he paid) who have all gone out of their way to minimize their tax, and the guardian -  who used a tax-exempt shell company in the Cayman Islands to avoid paying corporation tax when it sold its 50 per cent holding in Auto Trader to Apax Partners in 2008.

lol you can walk and chew gum at the same time you know. Also that's simply not true, for example every week on question time you'll get 'banker bashing', or articles in guardian deriding private schooling. There is a general hostility to privilege and wealth in this country - the fact that you were lucky to be born in very fortunate circumstances, and your parents were smart and made good decisions in life, and made sure you had the best education possible is a politically disadvantageous in the times we live. And more generally the emergence of people like sanders, trump, corbyn etc is the public voicing their discontent with an international moneyed elite. When has there ever been a Negative programme about benefit scroungers or immigrants on the BBC, which by far has the most influence on British political discourse, on the contrary the BBC's output has always been favourable to the people

As I said what is Cameron actually guilty of? It's not whatbouttery to point out the hypocrisy of the left, especially the Guardian which has made such a big deal out of this story.

Cameron - our PM - is guilty of hypocrisy.

Jan 2012
“We need a tougher approach. One of the things that we are going to be looking at this year is whether there should be a general anti-avoidance power that HMRC can use, particularly with very wealthy individuals and with the bigger companies, to make sure they pay their fair share.”

June 2012
“Some of these schemes we have seen are quite frankly morally wrong.”

January 2013

“We want to drive a more serious debate on tax evasion and tax avoidance. This is an issue whose time has come. After years of abuse, people across the planet are rightly calling for more action and, most importantly, there is gathering political will to actually do something about it.”

February 2015
David Cameron
“No government has done more than this one to crackdown on tax evasion and aggressive tax avoidance.”

April 2015
Tory election manifesto: “Tackling tax evasion and aggressive tax avoidance and tax planning is an important part of our long-term economic plan.”

tbf though, the taxes you'd have to pay if you were making real money is eye-watering

this country needs to have an honest conversation about it, otherwise nothing is going to change
