Every international tournament brings with it iconic moments that stay in the mind of football supporters forever.

Those highlights are often enhanced or detracted from by the coverage surrounding the game or the pundits in the studio, the commentators in the gantry or the presenter holding it all together. There is also the split of television coverage on the BBC and ITV, which decides where games can be watched.

Sportsmail has put together a guide to the teams covering the games for both channels and where you can watch each group stage game this summer.

The BBC's line-up includes (L-R) Rio Ferdinand, Gabby Logan, Gary Lineker, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer

BBC

Presenter: Gary Lineker.

Pundits: Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand, Thierry Henry, Gianluca Vialli, Jens Lehmann, Frank Lampard, Jurgen Klinsmann, Jermaine Jenas, Martin Keown, Danny Murphy, John Hartson, Robbie Savage, Kevin Kilbane and Neil Lennon.

England camp: Gabby Logan.

Northern Ireland camp: Stephen Watson.

Wales camp: Jason Mohammed and Eilidh Barbour.

Studio: 'In the heart of Paris'.

The BBC have gone from having some of the more staid coverage of football on television to having some of the best, which makes it no surprise that the organisation have generally gone with what works for Euro 2016.

Gary Lineker will occupy the main chair, surrounded by the hugely improved Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savage.

The addition of Jurgen Klinsmann, a current national team manager with the United States, could prove a master-stroke, as he can provide up to date tournament insight.

Embedding reporters Gabby Logan, Stephen Watson, Jason Mohammed and Eilidh Barbour in each home nations camp could also be to the BBC's benefit and allow them to provide more informed coverage.

Former Spurs midfielder Jenas is pushing a Snapchat service while Welshman Savage will be on hand

Mark Pougatch will continue to front ITV's television coverage for the competition in France this summer

ITV

Presenter: Mark Pougatch

Pundits: Slaven Bilic, Lothar Matthaus, Glenn Hoddle, Ian Wright, Lee Dixon, Peter Crouch, Tony Pulis, Emmanuel Petit, Christian Karembeu, Louis Saha, Norman Whiteside, Eniola Aluko and Richard Dunne.

Reporters: Gabriel Clarke and Leon Mann.

Studio: In Paris, overlooking the Seine and Notre Dame.

Unlike the BBC, ITV are still recovering from the post-Adrian Chiles hangover. Mark Pougatch has proven a relatively good replacement.

Every tournament needs a theme, and it seems as though the decision-making wheel at ITV has settled on France - not bad given the setting for the tournament.

Promotional work has been done by Eric Cantona, while Emmanuel Petit, Christian Karembeu and Louis Saha have all joined the punditry team.

The increasingly impressive Ian Wright is also on the team, while Slaven Bilic will bring a sense of informed opinion combined with rock star attitude.

It is a slight shame that ITV have not managed to capture their primary target, Ryan Giggs, who would have undoubtedly brought a similarly current approach to the game as Bilic, given his role with Manchester United.

There is also a return to commentary on ITV for Andy Townsend after a year long absence. Not for me, Clive.
