Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker could be out for up to five months with a knee injury, Sky Sports News HQ understands.

2 of Gabriel, Holding and Chambers to start the season :lmao:

Wenger confirmed Merts is done, "few months"

Hopefully he't not thinking about internal solutions, won't hold my breath though.

Could be a blessing, Bar Santi and the full backs all the others need to prove themselves this season.

Speaking last Sunday after their friendly win over Manchester City in Gothenburg, Wenger said: ‘I feel we could see we played together for a while, physically we look ready.’

But the Arsenal boss changed his mind after watching his team lose for the third time in four opening-day matches, saying: ‘We are not ready physically. You are in a catch-22 situation with the Euros — whether you give the players a rest who need it.

‘They are not ready to play this sort of game and get injured like Ramsey or you give them a rest and not have them for the start.

‘When will we be ready? I don’t know. We have to be ready next week because we go to Leicester.’

Tired of this old man

What will it take? I genuinely want us to go on a lose/draw streak from now, whatever it takes to speed up the process towards him leaving.

I hate Wenger so much.

We need the players to rebel against this tyrant like the Chelsea lads did last season tbh
