Surely at that age these students have already shown a level of intelligence and knowledge to earn these scholarships to attend Oxford University. I highly doubt they get there and suddenly the college decides to educate them to hate the guy who's history is funding their education. Even if they do, I don't think they are in the rights to come to the UK and start telling this country what statues should or should not stand. That's a different situation to the Americans though, complicated one for them.

Yes they where smart got picked. Obtain their papers, play the game and then once qualified. Seek to change circumstances to better their less unfortunate brothers and sisters. Who never had the opporunity to know and live in the shadow of Rhodes legacy dying to pick out debeers diamonds still to this day.

tbh, not that i agree with the orange ogre but its not just middle class white people and minorities that have the right to protest.

 

white, stupid, uneducated people also have the same rights to protest no matter how lame their disenfranchisement claims are, and those protesting against them insult everyone's right to protest. 

besides, i doubt any of those white people marching against these white supremists have done anything to boycott the NFL, or other pertinent issues that have better impact than taking selfies on the street saying youre marching.

My understanding is that the purpose of removing that statue was to signify that the town of charleston Virginia no longer holds the beliefs that were responsible for the statues construction.

The difference between the Robert E. Lee statue and the Washington statue is that the Robert E. Lee statue ONLY exists because the idea of slavery had support in Charleston. There was nothing else of note about Robert E. Lee. If the idea is now seen as a bad one, and that idea is the only reason why the statue is still up, then it makes every bit of sense to tear it down, especially when considering the way it most likely makes black people feel every time they drive past it?

Tearing down a statue is not erasing the past. No one will forget that the south fought to keep slavery.

If I built a statue of a man in a town where that man had raped the entire female population of that town, if I was REALLY against rape how could I not feel a moral obligation to tear it down? Especially when considering those women who would have to see it every day.

They are my family and friends, they live next to me, I'd pretty much seen them every day of my life growing up, some are uncles, some are cousins around my age, they have kids who had been around me constantly. My views are open and not racist so why would they have any problem with them, I air them to them, I air them via social media which they can all see. What exactly do you expect them to feel about their family member condemning all hate groups exactly? Explain that to me, are you genuinely sat there hoping they are as one sided and biased as you? Naw mate, they have grown up with white family and friends too. It seems more likely to me it is you who has one ethnicity in your family and you who doesn;t particularly involve yourself with anyone who doesn't share your skin tone or feelings.

There is no better system out of the defined european ism's that dominate this world.

Communism, Nationalism, Socialism, Capitalism every kind of ism you know about is a European intellectual concept of ruling or dividing the masses. If you know your Marxism's & Leninism's etc then you know.

Eg say people fear Communism, like china's (communism first developed by German sociologists) which only became that way in 1921, having dictators etc, lack of freedom of speech, Whilst USA england run under so called democracy, do you really observe any major differences? Houses of Parliament, the White House the system that holds the system and new Selected face of power after a set term, in which you are tricked into thinking your vote got them there.

There is no place on this earth that hasn't been ruined/tainted by the west's conquest of dominion via Roman Empire, The Vatican, British Empire, Imperialism, Europe and now USA. Which is only a major case of inferiority complex when you pick through the root of it. From Australia to Brazil, to Japan, to India the Africa the Carribean as well as America's North and south. Everywhere!

Not really true tho. Political ideologies in a rigid and codified way might be European, but the basic n fundamental things that define various well known ideologies are generally 'human'; wether working for common good or ruthless individualism. And hate them or love them the Europeans dem have so far had the longest and most successful political movements and general ability to organise. It doesn't even seem possible imaging a violent Corbyn led ousting/coup of Treezaaa but this is standard procedure in Africa. IMO a good middle ground to aim to is Scandinavian type social democracy but the population is too stupid overall and atm not empathetic enough cos of media. #opinions

Are peado's going to be holding a protest about the removal of a statue? Their reason for holding a protest was completely legitimate, regardless of opinion about the statue.
