Its giving too many wastemen and women a platform to push some kind of socialist agenda that they need better housing etc... as though there are public funds to put every one is a maisonette or three bed semi. Especially in London.

is this a joke

He's hungover.

Nobody is saying move these people into 3 bed front and back garden 2 bathroom houses.

People are saying spend some money on making these buildings as safe as possible.

If the figures of the flammable and non flammable cladding are true then someone really ought to do us all a favour and kill themselves. A 5k saving? How much would sprinklers have cost?

Fire alarms to alert the residents?

Useful fire escapes maybe?

The towers weren't safe and the cladding was used because they were poor u mongrel. Nothing to do with politicising anything

Look you uneducated pleb. The cladding was attached to make the building look prettier. Perfectly in line with current fire regulations ergo there is an issue with the fire regulations.

The building wasn't safe because no one considered that having gas pipes running up the stairways was stupid. No one considered that cladding was unsafe. It's a problem with the fire regulations and the standard of the refurb as well as the decisions made.

Of course these people didn't die because they were poor. They didn't die of starvation  they died in an unsafe building. A building that is the same across the country and this needs to be addressed.

There are people saying living in these blocks is like living in pigeon holes. There are people saying they need better quality of housing. There are people saying that rich people live down the road as though it is the fault of the rich that they have money.

Everyone is using this tragedy to push their own angle and it's wrong. How is actionable change going to happen if you try to use this tragedy to highlight every single social inequality that exists. You need only see the interviews to see this being used for 100 different social agendas.

The cladding used on Grenfell Tower, which has been widely blamed for spreading the blaze, is banned in the UK, Philip Hammond has said.

The chancellor told BBC1’s Andrew Marr Show: “My understanding is the cladding in question, this flammable cladding which is banned in Europe and the US, is also banned here.

Saying the same thing over and over again doesn't make it any more correct. If I died in my office building in a fire (which could have happened) would my cause of death have been "because he was an accountant."

Please say that you understand this point for the love of god. We are getting to hung up on bullshit politics and if we want to avoid another one of these we need to ensure that the focus is on he cause which is gas pipes, cladding, lack of fire exits, lack of sprinkler systems etc....

people are not going to stop being poor because of this. If you don't have a job, guess what... you will be poor. If you are housed at he states expense, guess what... it won't be plush. The state failed in ensuring the buildings were safe and there is an issue with fire prevention regulation, that is where it's obligation lies and where change needs to happen.

How is Brems point any different to Gambinos?

That dying  in an office is a dead argument bro.

These people died because they were neglected by their council who were cutting corners

Your office runs a weekly check on fire alarm.. These lot were running a campaign get a better safety.

The point is that the state failed with fire prevention regulation and fire safety in this block and others.

People keeping jumping on the poverty wagon to push some socialist agenda. If you're poor you have to work your way out of it, stop trying to politicise the situation on camera, social media and alike to trying and get more money or nicer shit out of the government. It's disgusting because its opportunistic and muddies the issue at hand and the thing that will actually prevent another one of these incidents.

This is not the same thing.. "cause of death" no one is talking about this, we know the cause of death. There is no need to talk about it.

Gas pipes, illegal cladding, lack of fire exits, lack of sprinkler systems etc.. Do you think the housing authority would have been able to get away with such things if the residents wernt poor... The outrage towards the rich neighbours  is because they thought the building was an eye sore and it effected there property values, they petitioned for something to be done and Grenfell put up the cladding saving as much cost as possible the renovations wernt for the people that lived there but for those who had to look at the building.

If these people wernt poor would they have been hit with legal action for trying to do something about the causes of the fire in which you listed to...

Z

They were taken advantage of becuase they were poor, there were a lot of short cuts taken and residents safety was not a priority once. I am sure the accounting firm you work for has spent money to ensure yours and your fellow employees safety in case of any fire or other accidents because they know if something did break out they would be sued into 6/7 figures at the very least.

Your last point is almost disgusting at the contempt you have for poor people, many of these people are first generation immigrants and this isnt 80s/90s uk in which you can easily come here from nothing with limited skills work your ass off and have enough money to buy a house and set your family up like your parents generation... but with that very last line Yes the state failed and why did the state fail because the state does not give a shit about the poor and makes no attempt to help the poor out of poverty.

this fire would have been prevented if the occupants were not poor and that is why i am saying they died because they were poor.... we are not talking about cause of death literally

The implication that this was allowed to happen because the peoole were not in the position to make a huge song and dance.

The feeling is the protests from the community groups would not have fallen on deaf ears if these people had a bigger cache.

The belief and feeling that poor people are disposable and easier to ignore is not a new one and it isn't without foundation.

One could argue that to the true elite, everyone is disposable  and worthy of being ignored, however it is harder to ignore peoole who have a little money behind them who are in a position to make a real song and dance about things before tradegy occurs.

Without doubt. Some are making a noise to boost their own agenda's nature of the beast unfortunately. Yes it is muddying the issues here. As highlighted in all its glory on this page of the topic.

Its the same argument

He is basically saying its the peoples own fault for being too poor to not afford to live somewhere better and that they deserved to die for being in a shitty situation but we should ignore them being poor at the same time
