Don't even see it as mad, man had a legit job and wasn't just wasting time on the roads before becoming an insta guy.

That's actually a lot more respectable IMO

In many ways the success of Micheal Dappahs (Big Shaq) shows how comfortable we all still are with bullsh*t.
I rate Micheal Dappah, i laugh at all his (Big Shaq) videos, but the way the Mandem (Black men) laugh at Big Shaq and the way wider society laugh at big Shaq is very different. (Digest that)
Clock the way 'other people' outside of our culture enjoy him, (and other parody acts alike) but don't share the same level of hype and hysteria for Wretch 32, Swiss, Akala, Craze 24, Mike Glc, (substance based artists). Political activists like myself, Black Male poets, and conscious minded performers, Black Male teachers or entrepreneurs etc.
This should show you that we live in a society that loves to celebrate Black Men that don't take themselves too seriously. We reward the Black men that play up to negative stereotypes, not the black men that challenge them.
Thing is, the stereotypical 'Black Male' wouldn't even be an issue, every race has a stereotype we could banter it, have fun with it, if the provided 'counter-type' which is a positive-stereotype, of the legitimate, responsible, loyal, intelligent, hard working black male (Who exists) was equally acknowledged and celebrated by US and society as a whole.
One of the many reasons Racist attitudes continually resurface is due to poor information &/or lack of accurate information.
People who don't spend much time with Black people source their information about us other ways, majority see us through the lens of an already bias media, but also from the very content we (Black people) put out.
Much of what young Black boys aspire to be they first have to see. So when we popularise and make the same old, same old b.s, hyper-visible, what do you think young black men tend to aspire to become?
Even though we enjoy these stereotypes, we can't be ignorant to presenting a mindful critique to ourselves and others, especially in advising your sons that what they are watching is funny....... but it's bullshit. Nonsense. Incorrect behaviour.
This ain't all we can be.
This isn't all that we are.
Black men do other stuff.
Black men are better.
Black men do better, everyday.

Some valid points

Some reaching

this but the reaching is obvious reaching and should be disregarded obviously

the mistake was using michael dappah as a case study for the way "the world" treats black men rather than a case study for the way the UK treats black entertainment

everything after that 5th line could've been done away with but it's not reaching just not relevant to the discussion
