it does happen to let off people, incuding black people.. theres many times that certain man should have been sent down and got let off. 

thats why the justice system is too lenient tbh... however stats still show that black people are let down more. and more likely to catch a case.

On the whole what is your evidence for saying that it is too lenient?

its too lenient because the courts are full of young people getting into  serious trouble who already have a rapsheet a page long. constant slaps on the wrist.

until something really serious occurs then the victim and family suffers a loss or serious injury..and the offender finally gets something serious by which time is usually too late to rehabilitate them too in most cases. 

its either too lenient or the rehabilitation is rubbish or both. 

you cannot be 'lucky' to have a lenient magistrate if youve been to court 5 times for different offences...nor do these kids or their parents have the means to fund a lawyer.
