Sane was garbage 2night, poor at everthing, made it easy for Arnold.
Looked overawed/tired.
No plan b by the attackers though, when that link up play ain't getting you in behind I don't see any real trickery or stepovers from todays wide men, it's all too predictable.
Missing real flair players in this era.

i think unlike against rashford, trent did a job on Sane simple and plain, it wasn't that he was rubbish, trent just had him in pockets all game and Sane just couldn't shake him no matter what he tried. i agree he slightly looked overawed
pep fucked up by not starting sterling & opting for gundogan. Gundogan should have been plan b not a.
easier said than done for most teams but when playing against city, if you can mark kevin, david & leroy out of the game you will more than likely get a result. Without those three being able to create, city struggle and liverpool nullified them twice & pep had no answers.
it's a lot harder to be a flair player in this era imo, apart from not getting the time these days i strongly believe it's being coached out of players, the decrease in such players is too much for that not to be happening.

I agree it probably is being coached out but a player has to take responsibility on the pitch, I still see many instances where a wide man has his full back 1 on 1 and doesn't want it.
Sterling had a few opportunities and is turning back inside for the pass ffs.
This is why Neymar/Dembele/Coutinho are at a Premium.
Man City really should have pushed through that Mahrez deal in Jan, woulda been perfect for this kinda tie.
