Boy, real life is stranger than fiction. I’m 100% behind what Colin is doing but I’m always skeptical when major corporations co-opt activists/movements. I guess they want to be on the right side of history. https://www.gq.com/story/dave-chappelles-netflix-special-nike "That's why I don't have a sneaker deal. 'Cause if you say something people don't like they take your fuckin' shoes off. If Martin Luther King had a sneaker deal, we'd still be on the back of the bus. It's true, the Nike execs would come up like "Hi, Martin. Uh...we need you to tone down the civil rights talk and the stuff about black people being humans. It's upsetting our Southern distributors." By this logic kap is maintaining the victim mindset and just enough to not rock the boat into full scale revolt and keep the cyclical protest gestures going. Keeping massa pockets lined. Triggering a few Republican heads, and to liberals he is a hero to keep them marching in fresh Nikes.

But it's the defo the selling factor Eg cool. I think we unconsciously influence to endorse it. Eg Jordan effect, mtv, hip hop vids etc... Pushed out as these became main staple of the mtv generation. Nike been working hard either way to make it synonymously cool brand amongst black American and UK black culture. This is why brands now pay top dollar to brand ambassadors. The ability to influence and affect unconscious bias and emotional connection. They don't need to do too much now. But just enough now to keep emotional tie in or align with current trends Eg the online social warrior Eg black twitter and so on.

The Somalian
Blacks are just a commodity at the end of the day and no one cares neither should they about their pain and suffering the sooner blacks worldwide realise this the better then they can start building a black world instead of trying to change the white mans world. The black man is nothing but an entertainer/jester to these people
TheOneGameBaller
These clowns cutting up Nike products they paid for are cut from the same cloth as those fools who burned The Beatles records, when John Lennon said they were bigger than Jesus. Now he gets further paid exploiting black problems being the face of Nike. Nike win further alliegence from new younger customer based which will be solidified in young blacks linking struggle with Nike a corporate monster which I guarantee you no black man is in there kneeling and wearing dasishki in the office board of directors/ceo. Ceo's are high fiving themselves at this containment win. Playing rounds of golf dictating corporate interests with republican senators for. Tax breaks in the Bahamas and trade tariffs and so on. This struggle campaign via kap is dictated by Nike and their marketing direction. you're quite stupid to feel that he should be broke because he wants to highlight a problem. people like you are the muck of the so-called community you claim you're about. He was whiteballed, so the only satisfaction to you is if you see him pushing a shopping cart like bubbles for people like you to be "convinced" that his cause was just? What has Nike got to do with police injustice? is his fight against conglomerates or the criminal justice system you bloody dunce. People like you are absolute scum and no wonder certain people who did fight for a cause at once time in their life eventually say fuck you lot cos sometimes the loudest cunts shouting eventually win, but they also had the emptiest brains.
Vtec
Never had any particular qualm with you per say on this board as most subject views we seem to have a general mutual understanding/opinion. However, you seem to have caught feelings here and now bitching over my opinion and viewpoint. Either provide some enlightenment on the situation for objective discussion or stfu. @VENOM

On one hand I'm looking at Nike like now you wanna jump in now that your NFL kit deal has been extended, your tenancy agreement with Trump is ending and now that you can use this as part of your roll out. But on the other Nike's backing with their corporate power and leverage over the NFL could have a positive impact on Colin's case. Speaking of Trump, so Nike has the freedom to do this because that's what this country is all about but the players didn't have the freedom to protest for what they believed in. Colin will win and get paid whether he plays in the NFL or not Trump will win as he has used this whole thing to gain a stronger hold of White America Nike will win by making loads of money The Black people suffering from police brutality and racial inequality (aka the original reason for this protest before it went from being about Colin, disrespecting the flag and Nike) will continue to lose as nothing will be done to change their situation anytime soon. 2 1
