Should we stop putting the clocks back

Been a debate going on for about a week.

Apparantly some want the clock changes to stop so we get more sun during the evening/night.

What do you lot think?

Next year may be the last time Europeans set their clocks forward 1 hour, as the EU considers scrapping DST permanently in 2019. The European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union (EU), has recently pushed to end the yearly clock changes in Europe.

If the initiative is successful, the last EU-wide DST period will start on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Each member state would then have the chance to decide if they stay on “summer time” (DST) year-round or change their clocks once more on Sunday, October 27, 2019 to observe permanent standard time in subsequent years. An extra hour of sleep can only benefit everybody and better yet we should go further and implement monday as an extension to the weekend guarenteed to have a more productive work force. Massive difference coming back from a bank holiday. Mad that we tamper with time though.

I like the fact we have a change it breaks up the year nicely . 4 day week would be live and more productive I believe

I can speak from experience that a 4 day week had a positive impact on my productivity. 

 

I'd personally prefer a mid week break as opposed to long weekend though.

It was only put in place for world war 1 and 2 to aid weapons and army craft production lines. Gain time over enemy. 

But originally proposed by Benjamin Franklin in the 1700s one of the freemason founders of the usa.

I would personally rather the clocks not go forward

Doubt it will happen here though. In Scotland it would still be dark at 9AM
