Newcastle have a massive fan base when you consider the number of football fans : population ratio, and the lack of competition for said fans from any other neighbouring teams in their league. I can't be bothered to look for the story, but some years ago back when they had a 55,000 stadium the FA had to step in to stop them allocating all 55,000 seats to season ticket holders. They have some of the most passionate fans in the premiership. Consider Tottenham booing at the end of the first game of the season when they lost, compared to Newcastle fans who haven't done anything for decades turning up week-in and out.Anyway back on topic, Spurs and Newcastle are the top two. Both have legitimate arguments. Whoever said Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and particularly Nottingham Forest, you're mental. Notthingham Forest won the European Cup twice, Leeds made it into the top 4 of the premiership and then the Champions League semi final in successive seasons. In what way is that underachievement?
