Yeah this is how i think religion should be, but its all been distorted by humans and now its f*cked up.They would like to argue on the fact that because you believe in certain things they do, they want you to be catorgorized as one of them. I like to keep my relationship between me and God.Yes I have had Catholic upbringing and influences however, I feel that in the end God ain't gonna ask you what religion you follow like the Muslims like to put it.. he will simply ask you do you accept he is God.YOU CAN KEEP YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD HOWEVER, ARE YOU SUGGESTING THAT YOU DO NOT LIKE TO BE LABELLED A CHRISTIAN? Your presuming secularisation is taking place, when its debatable if infact it is. Also, even if it is, im not saying people are meant to be smarter when religion is in deline, im saying religion causes lower classes to feel theres nothing they can do regarding their station in life as they are putting all their faith in religion/god or something else they cant control. explain, i woulda thought this wasn't even a point to debate Its a massive point to debate. Erm, I dont know if I 100% believe what im saying in this topic, but I did in the past and I havnt given the subject much thought since then as I recognise that its one of those silly abstract things that people worry about but really, it wont affect the individual much (not everyine, just people in my position in life)But yea, people say that religion is on the decline but the whole theory is made due to the low attendance in churches and whatnoit.I mean, private worship is MUCH more predominant in modern society, compared to say 30 years ago. 30 years ago it was relativity non existant. So alot of people still believe in god, and carry the same values and traditions that say, Christianity advocates, but they just dont ACTIVELY practise it, ie church every sunday. Statistics dont take this into account. Also, if we were to take the same time period, 30 eyars ago, and compare how many religions there was in them days, we would probably see that there are ALOT more nowadays. And the previously small factions in respect of religions, are not not so small. So not only are new religions spurting up, but also the smaller ones are becoming more popular. Lastly, again say 30 eyars ago, it was more of a social pressure to be very religious, in this case Christian, so often youd find people saying they are Christian, and even attending church, but not REALLY believing it. So all the aforementioned downsides to ebing a religious person cannot be attached to these people. They had to be seen as religious as it was a sign of someone humility/humbleness. Im not sure if this is all true 100% but im more sure that religion is not on the decline. Excuse the poor English use if there is any, im abit lean. The thing also, as we are comparing history to modern day life, history has shown how countries (especially England) have used relgion to punish people. If you did not obbey by the rules they would claim that in the name of God, you would have to be punished.Now acording to most writen biblical testimonies, it is writen that the only judge is God, if this is the truth, then it goes to show that religion does in fact play a bad part in society and maybe peoples' faith should be personaly practiced rather then as a 'cult'.HOW DOES IT GO TO SHOW RELIGION PLAYS A BAD PART?THE UK LAW IS NOT BASED ON ANY RELIGION. My prayers were very unselfish as well. On my birthday when I was young I didn't pray for presents of money or anything of that sort. I prayed "please make mum better" because she is ill/weak and "please make my dad's life easier" because he was working 14 hours a day back then.Got air pie.Seen, thats an honorable thing to do.
