why does my clantag reset everytime i go off MW2 & then come back on? is there any way of the damn thing staying there permanently?

when i create a clantag (which ive done various amount of times), wtf can i do with it??? does it have an ACTUAL clan system like Killzone2 or is it just some moist 4 letter thing next to my name in brackets?p.s. i also have a bluetooth wireless headset, so if anyone ever feels like playing me, i can assist you in battle & vice versa :-D
