At this stage in life, as far as the other 2 options are concerned it's not preferable (assuming it's a lower level position) and I honestly can't see how I would come to be interested in a guy if that was what he was content with in life. It could only work if he was working on his PhD or something.
For a serious relationship, it only makes sense that a woman would judge the money/financial situation.
(I feel like in the end this is more a judgement of character because you could have a man that is making bank but has horrible financial sense and one with a modest income but really knows how to make it work. I know who I'd rather be with. From a woman's pov anyway...)

To answer your question about how a white teacher would know about black history. He would know through studying, the same method a black teacher would use.
How they relate would still be different. The black teacher would no doubt have tinges of that abhorrent supremacy lacing areas of everyday life. Depending on the white teacher's position in life, he will no doubt be be benefitting from the 'privilege'.
How they choose to focus, undersrand and apply their knowledge can ease the burden placed on both and bring them near to the same level but the white man will never understand it from the perspective of the black man (barring any uncle Ruckus' out there).

Its white and gold for me but I might go home and view it later and see it as blue and black.
