  7. A woman from New Jersey who appears to have an obsession with fake tanning has been charged with child endangerment after taking her then five-year-old daughter into a tanning salon. The heavily-tanned mother, 44, pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared in a Newark courtroom on Wednesday. Krentcil's chocolate-brown hue testifies to countless hours spent under the intense ultraviolet light of a tanning bed or out in the sun soaking up rays. But she denied bringing her fair-skinned daughter into the tanning booth of a salon that she frequents. "I would not permit it," she told CBS TV in New York. The owner of City Tropics Tanning said his staff did not see Krentcil get into the stand-up booth with her daughter when she came in for an April 22 tanning session. "Of course not," said the man, who was identified only as Anthony. "My workers wouldn't let a child go into a tanning room. She was outside with her father," he said. "If she went into the tanning room I think she would have disintegrated. She's a little girl." The owner said police never came in to speak with his workers about the incident. New Jersey is among several states that have adopted regulations prohibiting anyone age 14 or under from using ultraviolet devices because of the risk of skin cancer. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/us-mother-charged-over-daughters-tanning-093410954.html

  9. The late King of Pop Michael Jackson might have some competition after all. UK songstress Adele‘s Grammy-winning album 21 has just surpassed Thriller in the list of the best-selling UK albums, placing it at number five overall. The London-born singer’s sophomore album has now sold 4,274,300 copies, 500 more than Jackson’s 1982 classic. “To add to her many landmark records, Adele’s achievement in overtaking Thriller in the all-time sales list is truly remarkable,” said Martin Talbot from the Official Charts Company. “Thriller has long been recognised as one of the most iconic albums of all-time. There is now no doubt that 21 can be spoken of in the same breath.” The album, which figures show has been shifting an average of 20,000 copies a week for the past four weeks, has spent 65 non-consecutive weeks on the UK Albums Chart since its release 15 months ago. It has also outsold Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black to become the biggest-selling album of the 21st Century. The top 10 biggest-selling albums in the UK are: 1. Queen – Greatest Hits 2. The Beatles – Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band 3. ABBA – Gold: Greatest Hits 4. Oasis – (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? 5. Adele – 21 6. Michael Jackson – Thriller 7. Dire Straits – Brothers In Arms 8. Pink Floyd – The Dark Side Of The Moon 9. Michael Jackson – Bad 10. Queen – Greatest Hits II http://www.soulculture.co.uk/blogs/adeles-21-album-outsells-michael-jacksons-thriller-in-the-uk Goes to show pirating music makes no difference. And you wonder why everything on the radio is trash. The music industry is dictated by ego maniacs who brag about a small thing they did in their past. Too many know it alls and no risk takers.

File-sharing site The Pirate Bay must be blocked by UK internet service providers, the High Court has ruled. The Swedish website hosts links to download mostly-pirated free music and video. Sky, Everything Everywhere, TalkTalk, O2 and Virgin Media must all prevent their users from accessing the site. "Sites like The Pirate Bay destroy jobs in the UK and undermine investment in new British artists," the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) said. The BPI's chief executive Geoff Taylor said: "The High Court has confirmed that The Pirate Bay infringes copyright on a massive scale. "Its operators line their pockets by commercially exploiting music and other creative works without paying a penny to the people who created them. "This is wrong - musicians, sound engineers and video editors deserve to be paid for their work just like everyone else." Virgin Media told the BBC they will comply with the request, but warned such measures are, in the long term, somewhat ineffective. "As a responsible ISP, Virgin Media complies with court orders addressed to the company but strongly believes that changing consumer behaviour to tackle copyright infringement also needs compelling legal alternatives, such as our agreement with Spotify, to give consumers access to great content at the right price." http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-17894176

  14. EA and Crytek have formally announced Crysis 3, describing it as the ‘premier sandbox shooter experience of 2013′. Once more powered by Crytek’s proprietary CryENGINE, Crytek promise further visual advancement and dynamic gameplay. Players will resume the role of Prophet as he returns to New York, only to discover that the city has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers. Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders. This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet. 'Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love,' said Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek. 'Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game.' Set in 2047, Prophet is on a revenge mission after uncovering the truth behind Cell Corporation’s motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes. The citizens were told that the giant citywide structures were resurrected to protect the population and to cleanse these metropolises of the remnants of Ceph forces. In reality, the Nanodomes are Cell’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination. Crysis 3 will be available spring 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC – revealing in itself given it’s unlikely EA would be releasing 360 and PS3 games if their successors were just around the corner. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/gaming/crytek-and-ea-announce-crysis-3-for-q2-2013-7656913.html

  16. Rihanna continued to party at the Coachella Festival in California last night (April 17). The Bajan singer, who recently completed a promotional tour for new film Battleship, has shared numerous images from the event with fans online. In one picture - posted on Instagram last night - Rihanna showed herself sitting on the shoulders of a bodyguard. However, a close-up image appeared to show a white powder on his head. Fans reacted to the photograph, with more than 1,000 comments debating what it showed. While some were amused that Rihanna appeared to be "rolling up on his head", others questioned if the substance shown was cocaine. One fan branded it the "coolest thing i have ever seen", while another commented: "Wait I'm still picking up my jaw that I dropped (sic)." Writing on her Twitter page, the 24-year-old said: "I'm crazy, and I don't pretend to be anything else." http://www.digitalsp...rks-debate.html I mean Cmon. How else is rihanna going to get attention? having a boring personnality? She knows what shes doing and her record label needs her to act like this in order to sell records. The media culture is feeding youth with pure soft porn on music channels/ Sitcoms. She's no different to the bankers. Pushing to see what she can get away with.
