once you adopt you're not monitored much at all. they put you thru alot before hand...2 yrs training, so once thats done your set......many times its that 2yr process that puts alot of people off.....

and when you say alot do you just mean frequent visits and stuff?

usual stuff like crb, home stability assessment,..then they do parent classes and seminars and interviews with the social services, while they go about looking for your match...where the real anger about the interracial adopting arises is that..in all those 2 yrs from when the white parent has said they want a black or asian baby ...there is very little or no focus given to the child's cultural background as part of the training.....all in all it shouldnt take so long

2yrs isnt typical btw but the average, some have taken longer and the lucky ones take abt 1 yr or so, if you use private agencies they can get it sorted faster. many people drop out during the usual long waiting periods, there were 60+ thousand babies up for adoption last yr, only just about 3000 were adopted.
