  1. A 35 year old man getting smacked about by his dad is a failure. Are you 35?
  2. so you're telling me if your mum, right now, told you to get off the computer and push you off the chair you wouldn't even grips her up?And people wonder why the country is in the state it's in.
  3. Are those with relatively lower scores only claiming they rushed it in order to save face?
  4. We do it better though It's not even all Nigerians. Just the mad hausa guys up north with Sharia law.
  5. Depending on your tone of voice, you were in the wrong. How can you laugh when your parent asks you a question? Dumb question or not just answer it.It's obvious to you and most other people, but you should be old enough to know Nigerian parents are not always the most logical people. It's not about hitting your parents. You have no respect for him? Just push him off or something. If you want to win with Nigerian parents, remain calm, maintain your composure and argue with reason and logic. They might claim a victory to save face, but they will know for next time and won't want to appear foolish.
  6. I'm at a crossroad. I'll update in 8 months.Best career decision was staying on at uni ... both times.
  7. Money (and I assume your referring to the liquid form of money i.e. cash) is a concept. It cannot be eliminated. I was under the impression this information is available to the public.
  8. Let her call. Answer the phone. Let her explain herself. When she's finished, tell her cool. Drop the phone. Never speak to her again.
  9. What people say you can't? I had three.I wouldn't class your situation as fraud. However, my legal knowledge in these matters is limited.
  10. A 2 week induction in a European country. Then off to the U.S for 3 weeks for "training"I won't be at uni though.

  16. I see. Does work exp factor into this?My friend goes to soas and is doing Law, she got 3A's last year, and a first this year...interned at Citigroup (canary wharf) last summer, is interning at HBSC in canary wharf this summer, how would she fare?I'm just trying to understand the dynamics of this industry...I'm a medic but unless I work in Harley street or something I probably won't be satisifed.Very well. The internships are a good look. Unless she interned in Back office and wants to move to FO.
  17. Don't limit yourself.I know one guy who graduated in 2006. He is now contracting for an investment bank.Making £350 a day.
  18. For graduate hire, I assume a direct application via the website would be your best bet.For experienced hire, you can try the website, but there are also a number of agencies that would handle recruitment.http://efinancialcareers.co.uk is one source of information.
  19. Depends on what division.TBH I don't know much about Finance, what would be unrealistic?Neither do I.Nothing is impossible if a person is determined and focused enough. However, M&A would be difficult (especially considering the current climate in the financial sector).Sales & Trading would also be difficult.Back office roles are definately achievable.
  20. Sounds like a standard flight on some national flights in Nigeria
  21. I would assume people are wary of the fact that they are miles above the earth travelling at hundreds of miles per hour. The feeling is worse when travelling over expanses of water. It may be the safest form of travel, but if you are in an accident, the survival rate is terrible.
