If this country wasn't so influenced by the media and these kind of comments then yes, our main concern would be the fact that this poor kid is dead. However, unfortunately for us this whole society thrives off labelling and stereotyping people which the media love to pick up on and use to increase fear of crime. Once Joe Public begins to get scared because of comments like this the government find it easy to pass through bullshit legislation in "response" to the public's concerns i.e. the medias discourse, and young black kids start getting stopped and searched 10 times more than white kids... oh, wait, that already happens!!!

But the point of this thread (Streets feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is to highlight the irresponsible journalist who printed that quote, not the fact that this kid is paralysed, otherwise the title would have been *insert witty Streets title about another kid getting stabbed and having a long neck here*.

Go to Birmingham, get a part time job. Save enough to get a deposit and first months rent back where you live now. Find a job and GET THE JOB then move back. Think about how much money you will save living with your Mum until you can do all this and by then you never know you might change your mind and like Birmingham and still have all that money saved.

I said I had whiplash. But when you go to see these specialist doctors don't milk it because they're used to people taking them for cash machines. I said "I can't even carry my shopping home, my neck hurts that much" and he just stared at me and said "that isn't true is it". So just say what's wrong with you and done. You're getting 5g+ I reckon, rather get that than nothing and get done for insurance fraud for getting greedy.

I had f*ck all wrong with me and got £1,200. Took around three to four months and it was three years ago. You won't get no 30 grand at all, I remember seeing a "price list" of the amount of compo compared with the injury and the 30 grand mark was for losing a limb. All I had to do is go to my doctor once, go to a specialist once and go to physio 3 times get some (unrequired) accupuncture on my back for free and then my cheque came.
