sbtv, spiff tv, grimedaily need to take a hard look at themselves and understand the power that they have. Right now they are the consumers access to the uk rap scene, but they keep putting up these videos of these terrible rappers. The f*cked thing is that these guys are representing the scene. It makes you think that anyone can get up on there right now and get that exposure.

He had the opportunity to get respect in the states with his BET freestyle but it was not good enough

This the other thing. These Uk artist arnt even serious like that. You got guys like Drake who have made MILLIONS, yet every night he in the studio till 5, 6, 7 in the morning making them tunes, everynight. Then you got a guy like Wretch with talent, who would rather jam in mayfair with white tings instead of in the studio where he should be. Harsh but true, it is essential for the supposedly ' Leaders Of The Game ' to constantly put music out to the mainstream to expand the market of UK urban music across Europe. The genre needs to be treated like a brand so it gives the future generation a chance. As much as i enjoy their music i feel like they are leeching off the name.

Thats another issue as well not only over here but in the states, good music being devalued because of it being free in a mixtape So when an artist releases an indie album do they sell it for free, cheap or the standard price?
-
Real talk / Although the markets are totally different i feel rappers over here should look at how mac miller is right now. He has the dream set up right now, indie artist with a powerful fanbase he's making authentic music that is being commercially recognised in addition to being a millionaire.

Road rappers will not become mainstream in this country, why? Not good enough musically Lack the creativity Not Marketable Perception These things should not deter them from making music, with the amount times they speak about hustling one would think they could put their entrepreneurial mind set into building something that could contribute to the industry. / The rappers are getting lazy, they just want to jump on the next freestyle or drake beat ect. They need to create their own sound through producing and having a clear vision for their music. Very few artist in the uk are doing that, this is why grime had so much potential, because the people involved took pride from making their music.

lol He won't be a saviour for hip hop, he's not a kendrick lamar. i think he will bring something different to the game which would be good for hip hop

c/s Iggy was saying on the breakfast club that the main consumer market in this country do not understand rap it's mostly chart driven. / It is possible, but its hard when the majors don't understand or care which leaves urban music in a fragile state. And by fragile i mean that there is not a lot of power on our side in the industry. The culture is growing and it will continue to grow but this is just the beginning, regardless of the success of the names mentioned don't be gassed they are still faced with adversity. However the rap scene right now is highly saturated with bullshit and this bullshit is being displayed on urban media websites. There are too many freestyle videos and not enough music for radio stations. And f*ck America their consumers have a different mentality and buying behaviour on a much larger scale than us.

The funny thing is when i buy i ticket i tell myself that i aint winning sh*t but secretly i believe that its finally my time. i lust and dream of all the things i would do with my winnings. Thinking about how much i would divide amongst my family, and all the family members i would shun. The penthouses across the globe, especially in miami or the house on the hills of monte carlo occupied by my french link who doesn't speak english, so when i visit all she does is cook and f*ck me. Having regular trips to Las Vegas and South America with my day one niggas, shopping in beverly hills with my day one chick and eating foreign food that we can't pronounce. Living in Switzerland so i don't have to give a penny back to the queen and the pikeys. But still having the heart to give back to the community i came from and create a private boarding school of excellence designed for deprived children in the ends so they can prosper and become great. After some time i would receive a noble prize before the age of 25.. Then reality kicks in that i am a university student and i'm not winning sh*t.
