Jay didnt buy out Dame, he sold him out...

Dame went hard for Jay-Z and all the Roc artists. As a businessman you could argue he made the company.

But as his own finances show you, Dame made mistakes, especially with money "too much flossing" basically.

Def Jam didn't like Dame, well didnt like Dame having so much power and Jay-Z was the most succesful artist on Def Jam.

It was hard for them to tell the executive of the best selling artist on the label he cant get a budget opened... Or he cant do this, as well you need to keep him on your good side.

For years Def Jam tried to split Dame and Jay up. Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles, etc all wanted Dame out and for years Jay turned them down.

I guess, Jay & Dame stopped communicating, the way they use too on business matters.

Remember Jay for years was saying he gonna retire, way before he did retire, then came back again.

So Dame was thinking life & this business after Jay, and started to rebuild (Cam, Dipset, State Property, Kanye, R&B, overseas, etc)

Jay was probably looking and knowing them man all want Dame out & thinking Dame you aint the man or the real owner of this company, see some sh*t he didnt like and then basically on the low let man at Def Jam know a deal could be done...

From there Dame was f*cked.

TBH, Jay-Z did go to Dash prior to acquiring all the rights & asked him & Biggs to give him the masters to Reasonable Doubt. Told them that Def Jam were offering everything but he was content with just RD.

Dash & Biggs turned him down & Jay-Z went ahead with Def Jam.

Jay can claim he offered them a great business deal, which he did, but Dame thinking we friends, you dont negotiate with friends.

Plus Def Jam didnt want Dame with Jay-Z, they certainly didnt want him without Jay-Z.

To me Jay's argument is lame, he was so far down the line with Def Jam, I dont believe it. He'd been plotting for years.
