Mad Genius Motion Capture System

(could had higher production value, but i still love guys basically doing DIY shit)

Mad Genius Controllers believes it can make Sony's idea of a break-apart DualShock controller a reality with its new splittable motion controller prototype. The Mad Genius Motion Capture System mimics an Xbox 360 controller in its current form, but is able to bring motion control and tracking to any game on Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, and PC using its camera-less sensor technology.

Mad Genius shows how the Motion Capture System performs while playing the Xbox 360 version of Skyrim. The controller can track and translate a user's movements into actions within the game, and when split apart is used to fire a bow and arrow (and other in-game weapons). The company uses four small transmitters mounted around a TV to detect a user's movement and claims real-time tracking accuracy of 0.254mm — that's better than Kinect (about 1mm) but not as good as claimed by Leap Motion (about 0.01mm). While the prototype shows wires and features an array of monitors in the demo video, Mad Genius says that the finished controller will be wireless and self-contained — and will soon launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund its development.
