Well having the majority of my family still in algeria and having spent considerable time in north africa i can safely say the book is bullshit.

My cousins do everything there that they would do here, life is just normal. Algeria is no more backwards than south america or eastern europe. There is now a large chinese population in algeria due to the economic advancements and a large sub-saharan african population who come to study in our universities which are far advanced than theres.

Until YOU have been there u cant tell me sh*t, cos we aint all pakistan and afghanistan.
