If any homeowner decided to build a loft extension without planning permission, the council would be round there demanding it be stopped and threatened with every legal action against them. However these people have built on land (and even getting electricity without the consultation of the electricity board) without planning permission, and now they are kicking off with any human rights excuse. The law can't be different for them and whats even more farse is that they've refused countless offers of re-housing from the council because the property is made of bricks and mortar. Well if they don't like the standard of living here, then they should move back to Limerick.
