  1. Arsenal's Henri Lansbury gone on loan to watford until January, did very well at Scunthorpe last year.
  2. If anelka was in charge we'd have Leroy Lita up front, a midfield partnership of joey barton and kevin nolan and be playing in the championship.Don't think anybody would doubt the quality VDV would bring to arsenal, he just isn't needed at the moment.
  3. VDV would be such a pointless signing.
  4. Is theo not playing cos he got a knock in training?
  5. Top 4Chelsea,LiverpoolMan UtdArsenalThink these 4 will be the closest they have been for a while. Don't see anyone opening up huge gaps. Even though the media are writing off Arsenal i think they were one of the few teams in the league that even without signing could go on and improve. Having said that a few injuries to some of our better players and we'll be in the mixer for 4th - 6th place. Utd's team just don't strike the fear they once did, looked at thier line up for the charity shield and they are definately weaker. Chelsea will always be in the mix as think they have the best squad. Liverpool have a great 1st 11, behind that i'm not so sure. If they keep there main players fit i can see them winning it.5th - Villa, 6th City, 7th Everton. - Could be interchangeable and Spurs could easily be in there, good squad but with harry in charge they are probably in line for a season of some joke decisions. Everton maybe don't have the squad of the other two just yet. Think City may either start well then collapse, or start poorly and then put a good run together a lot of players who may not want it if things are going bad. Don't see them as a threat....yet. Going DownHull, Pompey, Burley, - Think wigan may surprisingly struggle along with the other new boys also.Top GoalscorerTorresDrogbaRooneyPlayer of the Year ArshavinMy Team - ArsenalThink we'll surprise a few people but could equally do sh*t. Our 1st 11 is good enough to challenge. If we keep the core group of our 15/16 best players mainly fit we'd challenge. But with our track record we'll come unstuck and probably Denilson will again end up playing 40 games. Just hope Shava, Cesc and RVP can stay fit and supported by the rest of the team. If wenger signs a CB and a DM then it is deifnately on, but looks like he won't.
  6. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/art...gain/article.do Even if the source isn't 100% realiable i doubt they would either pick such a random salary or be able to play down it so much if it was a very high figure.Anyway my only point was Dein should know better than anyone why the board can't tell wenger not to worry about cost. They chose to reject his idea and if he is that big a fan of arsenal he should probably just keep quiet. I think eventually Kronke will take over, we're just doing it slowly. Nobody will be looking for huge investment now after they have put all the time and effort into the emirates. I also don't think Kronke will right off the amount of debt needed for us to compete with City, Chelsea etc anyway.Although i'm a huge fan of Dein, if we had a solid board after the emirates was built all going in the same direction we may have been in a better financial situation?
  7. Anyone got a good stream for this. WMP won't open the ATVO
  8. Peter Hill-Wood gets paid 60k a year for his role as chairman you dunce. Bit of research and you could of found that. Or have you once again got the inside track? Gazidis is on more, but is irrelevant to your argument cos he isn't a director, he is paid as an employee. If you knew anything about business you'd know a lot of directors don't get paid a salary, again that is probably the case with a few of our directors. I was talking about Dein saying why don't the board say to wenger don't worry about cost. The reason they don't is cos we have a large debt on a stadium and as a strategic business decision it is not wise to increase that debt by buying players that could not make us any more successful than we are. They don't want to sell to an extent due to economic gain, but more so cos they don't want the club saddled with more debt like Man Utd and Liverpool have done. They worked too hard on the new stadium to just sell it on straight away even though football is going that way. Please don't. Most of the sh*t you spill onto this group is ill informed garbage anyway.
  9. main ways u make money as a shareholder1. dividends2. share appreciationwhen fizsman sold his shares this year he gained £42m, EACH share was £8,500this was after he said he wouldnt sell his shares etcwhy did he make so much money cos investors like kroenke/usmanov are extremley hungry for a piece of thisthere using the situation to there advantadgeSo what's your point?
  10. How much do u think they get paid!? Enough to give wenger £100m to spend? Like most directors imagine there salaray is relatively low and they make thier money through bonuses/dividends, which in the past arsenal have never paid. 'Lining thier pockets' just isn't an argument here.As i said the stadium has been the problem. Do people want us to take out a huge loan or a stadium then another huge loan to finance the buying of players (who won't guarantee us success anyway). Did people really expect to have the best stadium in the league and be able to buy the best players in the world all at the same time?Only thing u can really levy at the board at the moment is thier reluctance to take on too much risk and our poor movements developing the commercial side of our the club.
  11. All this talk of the board 'lining their pockets' is stupid, pretty sure we have never paid out dividends to share holders (think this or next year we will do for the 1st time ever) so how are people lining there pockets.Only way you can make money off shares at Arsenal is by them gaining value which, will ultimately only happen if we are successful on the pitch. So don't know why people think the board are keeping money for themselves.Basically all this talk from dein, the board, whoever is irrelevant. The new stadium has to be paid for. If and when other teams build a state of the art 60,000 stadium you will probably see their investment in their squads fall. In this economic climate being prudent on something like squad members that doesn't guarantee a return is probably sensible. No other manager in the world could do what wenger has done for our club.p.s Hill wood is definately an old c*nt.
  12. Not worried. Should be a good game though.Best Celtic could of hoped for was coming emirates 1st and taking a 0-0/1-0 back to Scotland.2nd Leg at Emirates = Arsenal going through comfortably.
  13. Rumour courtesy of Ian Wright, hasn't been confirmed/denied by the club yet.
  14. Do people not feel sorry for him? Seem more people are of the wish we terminate his contract/get rid of him (not just people on this forum) than hope for him to get better. Not like he is enjoying being out.
  15. I dont think you got it. Every year for the past 3/4 when the season is coming to a close and yet again we are coming up short, Wenger will say he is going to add either world class players or experienced players than when the negotiation period is coming to a close we have yet again lost experience and gained a player or two that are not even tested at the top level.Joke really.Sorry thought u were talking about his comments in the interview rather than his dealings in the transfer market. Says the same things every year and it is tiresome but ain't gonna change. Publicly he has to portray his confidence for the sake of the current squad, fans etc. Privately, i think he knows what is needed even if he fails to get them. And flamini/diarra situation should never have happened. Moment Flamini stalled over a new deal he should really have been dropped and priority given to Diarra we were doing so well at the time it would of been difficult. Sometimes wenger ain't ruthless enough with this young team.
  16. I'd love this guyhttp://www.independent.co.uk/sport/footbal...si-1765257.htmlNever gonna happen though. Matuidi looks the likely option, don't know whether he is any better than our current options though.
  17. If u had seen the interview where these quotes were selected from you would see he has admitted the money is there to spend, we don't sell to put the money in the bank and we are looking for players, but at the same time he has faith in the current squad. Not sure what else he could realistically say!?Could declare interest in a player, get knocked back by player, look like a prick and displease fans and the current squad by not gettin his targets. He doesn't though, keeps it all quiet, tries to build confidence in the current squad and does the transfers behind closed doors. It's frustrating for fans but he is hardly gassing.
  18. Heading down there saturday with my mates hoping to back a few winners.Anybody got any tips they can let me in on. Anybody else going?
  19. He needs to say these things incase he can't pull off any transfers. Doesn't mean he ain't looking.
  20. Hleb gone Stuggart on season long loan.
  21. Last 20 secs of this clip suggest he is gone. Real shame, the africans seemed to be the life and soul of the dressing room and i know eboue was particuarly well liked. Not only are no signings gonna piss the fans off, but the dressing room could be dead before we startedStill, Toure 28>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Toure 5. Hasn't been the same since.
