liberal right Posted August 15, 2007 Report Share Posted August 15, 2007 They are now hiring 16 year olds to work on the street as CSO in order for police officers to get all their paperwork done. Now I believe that instead of hiring kids to do jobs they simply cannot do why not go strait to the PROBLEM holding police officers up. PAPERWORK. Instead of hiring CSO why not hire 'office workers' to carry out paper work, typing up reports, developing presentable folders for evidence etc. leaving police officers less time in the office and more time out on the beat.As far as I can see most of these CSO Officers are receiving 24.5k per annum where as the average office worker earns between 16-20k per annum. Surely would it not be cheaper to hire secretaries to support the police force? When PC's drop in with prisoners they leave there brief notes as well as other evidence tape recording/video footage with their secretary staff who then do all admin and type up work allowing them to return onto the streets quicker. THIS CREATES - MORE EFFICIENT JOBS... - SAVE MORE MONEY... - MAKES THE STREETS MORE STABLE FROM THE GANGS AND VIOLENT TEENS... - THIS WILL GIVE THE REAL PROFESSIONAL POLICE OFFICERS WHO ARE FULLY TRAINED MORE TIME ON THE BEAT MAKING THE COMMUNITY FEEL MORE SAFER THEN HAVING TO DEPEND ON KIDS WHO ARE LESS IN EXPERIENCE AND CONFIDENCE IN DEALING WITH PROFESSIONAL CRIMINALS.- A BETTER ARRANGED POLICE FORCEYour views? Confidentiality and that.Well I am sure 'office people' work for Mi5 and the civil service.They go through criminal record checks and background checks as well as signing a confidentiality agreement on contract signing.
